Beware FREE offers on BHW

Totally get what your saying but, open up a new email account today and check it in a weeks time and it will most likely have 100 spams ready for you

I do understand that BHW has quite a few toerags but most people are ok, I know for a fact that some people take an email address for submitting a free service (i.e. directory's) so its not always to the case that a provider is spamming, it can actually be the site that have submitted to

You're right though, a simple rule of thumb is don't give out your email or details

Just check out the person who is offering a service, if it sounds to good to be true then it may just be that

not really...

i have several 'catch all' emails....and i don't get a single bit of spam on them...
but i don't list them here....

i think the op has a point that there might be a few pple who put emails they receive here on an email list...

it's actually a brilliant list building strategy that i might have to use ...on other forums of course....

i'm looking to give away [item] for free.....send me your email via pm....

so...it's wise to be careful who you give your email to :)

dont u just love arrogance. the OP is just trying to do a public service, ok yes he isnt pointing the finger, nor is he complaining, he is just advising others to be aware , but hey theres always one ( u ) who has to play the big i am card.

I'm not being arrogant at all, but I find this whole hiding niche thing quite funny though

If you're willing to work then you can take out some major players in any niche, I love it when new competition outranks my sites, I welcome everyone and anyone to join my niches it makes it more fun

SEO is one of the industry's that can be business or a game, I think it as both because I absolutely enjoy it

Also beware of viruses, since I came back to BHW a month ago or so I had a clean version of Windows installed, after downloading for 2-3 weeks I found about 30 troijans, tons of malware and a couple of viruses that were really nasty to get rid off.

Most people have good intentions but there are always a few rotten apples.

No I dont use a virusscanner as it slows down my pc, I just run it when I get the idea my pc is infected and then remove all of them at the same time.

This thread is actually lame, even the newest emails get spammed, and if you downloaded cracked software then expect crap and not using a virus checker?? Really

If you dont like free stuff then dont be tight and buy the product or service!

Party pooper... :D

exactly, not only with free offer, its happening with paid offer as well. :261:

Simply don't take on offers that need your email. Any text can be typed in PM and any file can be uploaded anywhere and linked in a pm so email address is not required unless the giver is willing to spam later.

I found i immediately get spam mail offers when i order one particular service section service using my email address!

I only offer free services to specific people to just help them out. However that said you have to remember your on a MARKETING forum :)

If an antivirus slows your computer down too much, then use "Sandboxie". It's free. I use it combined with my antivirus so if there is something wonky in the download, I just nix it. HelloInsomnia introduced me to Sandboxie and I can't speak enough good about it.

Having been on forum for a while and watched many free offers being posted, beware. I beileve a good few of them are just after your email address to spam you.

Only reason I know this is that I set up a new hotmail account to apply for these on BHW and Spam galore on the account.

There may be some geniune offers out there and for them WE THANK YOU but beware.

It would be naive on one's part if they use their regular email for such stuff. And I don't quite see anything wrong in the offers, spam as they may be.

Secondly, using the 'free blasts' etc, would be helpful if you used a couple of buffer sites or web 2.0's or profile links. I'd be surprised if people here would give away details on their money sites.

As for the viruses.. you get what you pay for. Nulled scripts might seem nice, but they bring with it their own risks and the BHW mods can only monitor them to a certain point.

i use HMA emails for suspicious posts/offers

but i guess they just like to get new ideas...

we all need to remember nothing is FREE
