With all the rave reviews I'm still skeptical. Breaking Bad was the best tv series the world has ever seen. I've tried to get into many other series, True Detectives, House Of Cards, Walking Dead, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Mad Men etc and couldn't stand any of them. In fact, in the last 10 years there's only been 2 tv series I've been able to get into:
Breaking Bad & The Sopranos.
BB especially... it raised the bar SO HIGH for tv it made all other shows impossible to enjoy.
But I will check out Saul. And if **I** come back and saying it's good then it's good. Cause I will
not recommend anything less than perfect.

UPDATE: FUCK EVERYTHING I previously said.
I'm only half way through the first show and had to pause to update. FINALLY I found a new tv show I can both vouch for and get into. When Heisenberg died I literally thought I was witnessing the death of tv. But once again Vince Gilligan has resurrected his brilliant creative demons. In fact, I thought it was Bryan Cranston that made BB what it is but I can tell now it's Vince Gilligan himself. I don't know what it is about this guy but he's got some special TV formula... or some weird type of finesse that's gonna make him go down in tv producer history.
He's got this super intense, serious, hilarious, dramatic, perfectionist style of producing that makes all his work just perfect.
I think his comedy writer has a lot to do with it. Cause aside from the excellent story telling in Breaking Bad, the impeccable writing, acting, etc... that show wouldn't have been half as good without the nonstop black comedy. And I'm seeing all those same elements in Better Call Saul. Vince Gilligan really needs to start coaching other tv producers. He seems to be the only producer out there who fully understands what people wanna see.
