Version 0.0.4 is finally here that adds a new "Download" feature. This is different than restoring because where restore will restore a domain as it appears in the wayback machine from a point in time, downloading allows you to download the same pages from a domain during a date range.

Disclaimer: Bugs in this version are highly likely.

For the next release, I want to improve the Download screen by adding more useful features, like maybe adding a button that opens your restore directory? Instead of downloading the files, just provide a listing with the ability to download each individually?

At some point on the roadmap will be the ability to extract the content you download into WordPress posts but we are a long way from that.

If you have version 0.0.4 already installed then it should automatically update to the latest version.

I'm working on a new feature called "Snapshot Explorer" that will let you search and find snapshots of domains, web pages, images, videos, CSS, basically anything that has ever been archived.

Here's a preview of the options screen.

Version 0.0.7 has been released. You can download an older version using the links above and that version will be automatically updated to the latest.

This version has the new "Snapshot Explorer" which will allow you to find and view snapshots on web.archive.org. For example, if I want to see all pages on example.com that have been archived from january 2021 through july 2021 I would enter the following options:

If I wanted to download these files I would enable the "Download Files" toggle, otherwise all of the available assets and snapshots will be displayed.

Setting Match Type allows you to do the following:
  • exact will return results matching exactly archive.org/about/
  • prefix will return results for all results under the path archive.org/about/
  • host will return results from host archive.org
  • domain will return results from host archive.org and all subhosts *.archive.org

What's Next?​

There is some overlap in capabilities between the Download page and Snapshot Explorer so in the next release the Download menu option will go away since Snapshot Explorer can already do this.

I will continue to enhance the new Snapshot Explorer feature with some additional download options, more 'Actions', improve the screen's performance, and add some filtering options. There are a lot of new features I want to add to this application but they will have to wait until I iron out what I have. Once I have a solid development base to build off of I will feel more comfortable putting together a roadmap of new features and releases.
 
I have downloaded 0.0.5 for Mac and it says this is the latest version. How do I get the updates?

Im not sure if the check for a new version is working or not. The application auto updates in the background regardless. I too use a Mac and it was automatically updated. You might need to close and reopen to see the changes, I forget how I have things setup.
 
Thanks for contribution, works sometimes, sometimes not. Updates not available for 0.0.4-0.0.5., windows version.

Thanks for the feedback. I will need to have a look at the update checker because I don’t think it’s working. The application should auto update in the background but if not you can always download the latest manually.

The latest version is 0.0.7.
