Use a comment blacklist. Under your discussion session where you adjust comment settings should be a field where you can enter a keyword blacklist.
Use the universal keyword blacklist with a ton a keywords in it from github: https://github.com/splorp/wordpress-comment-blacklist/blob/master/blacklist.txt
Just copy + paste that into the blacklist field and it should take care of 99% of them. The rest should be manually approved by you if your site isn't too large.
I never used plugins just this blacklist and never had any problems with spam.
