Best WordPress Hosting Reviews (UPDATED 2021)

Great article and as you said, without the bloat and ads. Waiting for my Bluehost deal to expire so i can jumpy on something else. Heard big things about Guru but also stumbled across Krystal for a client and noticed good customer service. For me, it looks like a battle between Guru and Krystal.

if memory serves me correct, i was put off by Guru when i saw they dont offer staging :(

@Festinger I've noticed previously that you been using Kinsta/WPX in the past. How is your personal experience with those two.

How is hostinger? you guys tell me. She left me confused. Should I buy or not?

They have listed free CDN on the sales page:

You would think ok so they are giving free cdn to 100 websites with this plan. This plan is for up to 100 websites.
Here's the thing.
The cdn is free cloudflare cdn. Its already free.
Now they got some service that will connect your website with Cloudflare from their dashboard.
That service is 9.95 for each domain and you will get it free for 1 domain that you will register with them.
But you can add cf to your domain by going to cf website.
So basically they are saying free cdn on sales page which means 9.95 for free cf cdn for each domain so a whopping 995 per month for free cf cdn if you have 100 domains.
But then she is offering 30 of that service free and more.


We're talking about the Cloudflare service, the CDN - you will receive one of them for your domains to use. You can use it with any of your domains (registered elsewhere or with us) as long as they are pointing to us via the nameservers

Good article thanks for sharing. Just my two cents being from the UK ->

I have used both of these providers and they are excellent. Both of them have decent servers, reasonable pricing and great customer service. Krystal was very helpful in the past when I had an unusual hosting requirement and they were very accomodating.

I have to say though, Guru takes the top spot for me and in fact, they have the fastest setup that I have used to date.
  • Krystal (UK) – good speeds and cheap pricing, also use LiteSpeed servers. I recommend this for UK folks. I personally tried it.
  • Guru (UK) – another good UK host. Some people like GURU better than Krystal. They use LiteSpeed and allow crawling.

This post sent me a few shock waves.

I didn't realize that LiquidWeb got acquired.

Anyone else notice a pattern with these hosting takeovers and buyouts?

They almost always seem to degrade < a once great service.

I had a number of accounts with HostGator for years before they were acquired by EIG; HG instantly went to pots once the takeover completed.

I had a number of accounts with hosting companies that got bought out by Hostwinds and those instantly went to the dogs.

I could go on...

These companies bent on buying out the competition are strictly crunching numbers; providing superior service is not part of their ethos.

This is a great opportunity for those with the technical skills to install webhosting infrastructure, to launch webhosting excellence.

In the mean time, I'm going to checkout Linode.

I use hostinger and Im satisfied specialy with the speed of the website. I used bluehost in the past but is very slow.
 
Awesome review thread, but I disagree about Amazon EC2 sorry. :p
It's a bit technical for sure, but you can really do cool stuffs with it, especially when you combine other AWS products with EC2. Those are built to scale up. For a normal WP site it may be an overkill nevertheless.

I wanted to buy shared web hosting, but their saleswoman pushed for buying shared cloud hosting real hard. I mean really really hard!! This tells me their shared web hosting is getting crowded and maxed out so I backed off.
 
i definitely agree with Hostinger, it's worst, no support, and not so useful for your authority websites. I really check this WebhostingFace , just found this one here.

I dissagree with no support. When that I had issue with my website I contact them via chat and they reply within 30 minutes and resolve my issue.
 
Are you guys talking about of Hostinger’s cloud hosting or just shared hosting? I actually own 2 cloud host packages from Hostinger and I kinda love it. The support is great and usually reply back within like 30 mins max. If you had a previous conversation with a support member (if they are online), maybe you’ll get lucky to continue a chat without having to wait.

When it comes to the hPanel ( something like cpanel but better in my opinion) I find it more organized, clean and easy to work with compared to a cpanel.

Only thing I hate about Hostinger is that they charge for SSL. They are selling one lifetime SSL( probably Lets-encrypt which is free) for like $11.95 which is really unacceptable. But as long as you can talk with the support and ask them for good deal on SSL, they’ll hook you up. Last time when I subscribed to my second cloud hosting package, I negotiated and got 50 SSL’s for free.

When it comes to speed, I have tested the GTMatrix and Google Page speed in a fresh install of Wordpress and was maxed out until I started to install themes and plugins. I personally think speed is something which has to be optimized through the website side.
 
where is Hostarmada? I would suggest you all Hostarmada very fast hosting!
 
Nice article. I hope I read it before before purchasing the hosting.
I'm planning to buy a new VPS and I heard about contabo. I think this offers the best configuration with cheap price.
Is someone here have purchase contabo and what is performance?
