I then joined Festingers Vault to try various builders including Oxygen, Astra etc but needed many extra plugins on top to get the desired effect which caused the slow down.

While looking, I came across Botiga Pro which is one of the lightest themes with extras added to it such as being able to deactivate features you are not using. I only needed to add the Gutentor plugin to get one effect I needed.

Their support has been fantastic and fast, the only real problem is, JetPack Boost buggers up the CSS and antother JetPack plugin which tells you image sizes makes menus unclickable but there are plemty of other options out there.

The best is wordpress with elementor plugin installed.
 
Depends on what you want a website for. For e-commerce, I'd say Shopify + GemPages. For normal biz websites & blogs, Wordpress & Elementor Pro. For other funnels and digital products, clickfunnels classic.
 
Depends on how simple the site you want to make is.

If it's a site that only displays information and has just a few static pages than you probably don't need a builder.

If you're on Wordpress, you can get everything done through a theme such as GeneratePress and you can do it pretty easily.

A builder can help you customize though and can add a lot of different stuff to your site that would normally require a lot of plugins, custom code and time.
 
im using webflow, someone even posted a tutorial on how to use it
 
I like to build sites from scratch, but if I were to choose a website builder then I will go with Wordpress if it's not an ecommerce site. If it's an ecommerce site, then I will go with Shopify. It has better features than Wordpress's Woocommerce
