I am just not getting the hits on my ebay like I would like. Is there a way to put meta tags on my listing or what is the best way for more lookers?

The #1 factor in getting more visibility is account strength and sell through rate. #2 is a good picture that stands out from other similar listings.

eBay uses a proprietary algorithm to determine listing placement. What is known is that you get better placement based on if you're a top rated seller, how much you sell, how old your selling history is, etc. It also favors sellers with high sell through rate and conversion rate. That is the % of products you list that's actually sold, and the % of listing views that convert into sales.
eBay has stated that people who try to SEO by trying to get into as many searches as possible gets penalized by their system, and is rewarded if it gets into specific searches. It is also strongly suspected that eBay throttles sales of medium to large accounts that try to compete with enterprise level sellers on the best selling items.

Does the placement depend on the amount of watchers too or no?
I strongly suspect that it doesn't if it doesn't increase your conversion %, although I may be wrong on this.
