I already worked with Ahrefs for audit and keywordtool for keyword research.

Your recommendations about perfect fit tools for SEO and what else you are using?

Ahrefs and Semrush are basically the two best(balanced) SEO tool, though Ahrefs is a little better at least on backlinks matters.

Other tools that ate freely available but less utilized are the Google search console and Bing webmasters tools. The data you could get from these tools about your site, would greatly improve the way you work on your site and the kind modifications you could do.

  • Screaming Frog and Screaming Frog Log File Analyser
  • Keyword Researcher
  • SEO Minion (Chrome Extension)
  • WebPageTest.org
  • Google Docs
  • Google Data Studio (Reporting)
 
I use the tools like SEMRush & Ahrefs(For backlinks and keywords data), Majestic SEO (For TF and CF data), and Moz (For DA and PA data).

For site Onpage data, I simply use the Ubersuggest or SEO QUAKE extension.

Sometimes I use Google SE for finding the keywords that exactly need a site.

Also, this method helps to find the exact competitors.

You can try the above-mentioned tools. But ask yourself what you are looking for before you dig into it.
 
For on page SEO, Screaming Frog is the best for me.
 
I agree that these are the two best tools Ahrefs and Semrush
