best seo plugin? seo images plugin? Platinum seo?

So I have been using Platinum seo pugin since it was released but it seems the developer has abandoned it. I don't blame him you can't make money with free plugins begging for donations. As I recall the best thing about Platinum seo was that it automatically created redirects if your url structure changed. It no longer seems to do that. Does anyone have an idea for a replacement that does that?

Also in regards to images. I have an adult tube blog that creates a thumbnail for all of the videos. All the thumbnails are stored in the media library. Would it be smart to tag all of the images with alt text?

I currently use Pageone pluggin. It seems to do the job.
