Best RAR password cracker

What does this have to do with SEO? Well, it's being used to crack an archive that has an SEO tool in it. Once I have the password I can openly share on the forum once I check the no-no list.

So, whats the best tool out there to "Recover" a .RAR password? My brute force has been running all day and it's reporting a false positive resolution.

Whadya think?

Hard to get password of archive everytime, Any cracker can not have all key combinations, so it depends on luck:viking:

Its not easy to retrieve forgotten passwords. These softwares will only work if the owner was stupid enough to set a password present in the directory, which won't be the case!

^ I'm 95% you want it for Xrumer. I can assure you that even when you extract that archive it is 100% useless

I could never find one that works. brute force is the only way it could work. And it could take forever to find the letters / words that happen to be in the password.

^ That is because hash cannot be reversed. The only way is brute-force attack.

No no no, I own Xrumer. I would never share such a program anyways. It has to be on the DNS list. I would be surprised if it wasn't.

However, the item does have to do with Xrumer. I found the password this morning and plan on checking the DNS list tonight. However, for the moment off to work I go.

Thanks a ton for checking out the thread but it's a solved issue at this point.

I was checking this thread to see if there was a RAR password cracker, but obviously there isn't.

I'm sick to death of idiots uploading torrents, only to not include the password lol.

Brute force in general would take a) ages and b) a high-spec computer to do it within a reasonable timescale....say by xmas 2011 lol.

I eventually did find the password I was looking for, googled the torrent name and the word password, the 5th site I hit upon contained the password....turned out the software didn't do what I needed it to do though....what a waste of time lol.

Sorry to say but it's impossible to crack rar archive. I've lost password to something important once, I've spend one week to find a solution and - if password is safe (like as521gh) it's almost impossible to get it - especially with common software, designed to recover passwords. It would take ages to get it.

This would be good ... I'm very interested in this to.

I was nearly scammed out $300 for 600 CL PVA's ... I was paying via Freelancer (Escrow) and the person was extremely fishes. They sent over a passworded RAR file, which I still have, and demanded that I release the payment to which he'd then give me the password. I refused for obvious reasons!

Would be cool if I could get a PM HazardPT!

Cracking a rar password will take FOREVER if it is longer than 8 characters, RAR's use AES encryption I believe and even the fastest CPU can only make around 300 passes a second. A lot of passwords are url's which are long and have multiple character sets in.

There is a program called rar key that will do it but your best bet would be multiple computers if you have access to them, or if its really important pay a hacker to have a go.

Failing that, give up now and save your time and effort
