Actually A$AP Rocky is one of the few i listen to and i like out of the newer generation, his last album was whack though.
Main stream rap music never really tried to solve the problem of the Middle East. It was always about hoes, drugs, i fuck yo shit up, playing gangster, that sorta thing, this hasn't really changed. I dunno, i guess the performers got shittier. When Lil Wayne started to get popular, that's when hip-hop went to real shit with auto-tune.

I'm a beats guy when it comes to hip hop. Rarely do I ever listen to the lyrics unless they're arrogant as hell. Big fan of bay area guys. HBK Gang, Iamsu, Sage the Gemini's older stuff. Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Allderdice was what I listened to everyday my junior and senior years of highschool.
But, for 2016, right now I'll go with Child's Play by Drake. Not a huge Drake fan, but the beat and background vocals in it hit home for me

Just a fyi, you need a good sound system to properly listen to Swing my door or it'll just sound like shit/static from the heavy bass.
