Best practices for monetizing Instagram?

Currently have a large platform in the hairstyle niche. Going to be selling hair wax soon, just developing the product.

Right now though the instagram has grown to be around 26k followers, and I'm thinking I should probably do something more than just posting occasional photos with it haha.

I'm fairly clueless with instagram, but with the platform people click through luckily so its easy enough to get followers, but how do you actually turn this into money? How do you guys monetize this? Do you have favorite ways of driving traffic or converting people to an email list or sales?

In the same boat as you. Would love to hear any ideas that anyone has in regards to monetizing on an account with a large following. Anybody have any ideas?
