Best Platform For A Silo Based Authority Site

In 5 years of siloing, and reading everything available, and buying every product that purports to silo a web site, and testing, testing, testing - I've never seen a forum thread like this where people have got so agitated about siloing

There are 32 different ways to silo a site (16 for a CMS) - so many of the posts on this thread are correct up to a point - there are a lot of different ways to silo a site, and a lot of different platforms that can be used to silo a site, and different ways to utilize the platform to best effect

Any level of siloing is better than no siloing at all, but a few of the posts on this thread are missing the point - the better the site is siloed, the better it will rank

I'm passionate about siloing, but not passionate about the actual platform

Hell, if you can stand the old-fashioned layouts, xsite pro can silo perfectly

I hope we can all calm down a bit

There is no one selling silo solution expect you on bhw. But, there are many on WF. I think you should help people on WF also + their you will get many sales (just add this quote to wso "Silo sites requires 50% less links to rank" )

I'm a member of warrior forum and have helped people over there

The moderators are nuts over there and I got banned for a week for helping people, and lost my signature permanently - so not going to spend any more time on their forum

YouTube videos would get us some additional sales, and I'll get around to making some over the winter months when I get really bored

In the meantime, got lots of things to keep me busy, so not pushing for sales really, as sales also brings support requests

Thank you all for your help, Im sorry I did not reply I've been busy coding a theme and I a buddy of mine gave me a plugin that interlinks the pages by silos and not willy nilly. One more question how do I effectively add the privacy page and about me page ?

This is going to be tricky, you could try with iframing or ajax to hide the links, or just admint that you will lose a bit of juice and just show them on the homepage.

Theres a Widget Logic plugin that can help you with the links to those pages on your homepage.
Webdev can fill in the details.

This is how we do it for our best-selling theme2 (from the installation instructions on our user forum):

In order to prevent pagerank/theme bleed from every page of the site, the mandatory but non-money making pages such as terms, privacy, etc. you can limit the links to these pages to the home page

In order to do this you need to download and install the free plugin "Widget Logic"

Through Plugins/Add New - click the "Search Plugins" button and paste the following into the text box:
Widget Logic

Install and activate the plugin

Navigate to Appearance/Menus
Create a new menu
Add your mandatory pages to this menu
Navigate to Appearance/Widgets
Open "Bottom 1"
Drag "Custom Menu" widget into the open box
Select the menu you created
In the Widget logic text box paste:
is_front_page()
Press the "Save" button

Yes, iframing or ajax would be a perfect solution - but we use the free WordPress plugin "Widget Logic" along with custom menu widget

It's then a simple matter of using the logic code "is_front_page()" to only display links to the about us, contact us, privacy, etc. pages on the home page
