I think it depends on your personal situation. Also, I don't think it is wise to bet it all on one horse.
If you store it at home: People will come to know and tell others that are bound to give you a house call. This mostly starts with the owner bragging to a good friend.
If you like to keep big bills like ?500 bills, only banks will be able to change it for smaller bills. ?50 bills adds up quickly, easy to use too as they are accepted everywhere.
Gold and silver bars should be disguised. I would probably paint them and make a puppet house using the bars as stones...
Antiques increase in value but look like garbage to most people. Not useful if you have a lot of guests/friends.
Houses are not as safe as plain land.
I know of one person that got a house call for being white in Africa. Got him in the hospital.
I know of another person that pays a tip fee for useful information. He likes to make house calls.
I know of several people that talk way to much, this resulted in house calls.
In short: Diversify, hide in plain sight and keep your mouth shut. Don't live like a God in France till you can afford the Angels to protect you.
