Hi!

I've ran a blogg for the past couple of months and it's started to gain some traction.

I haven't monetized the website at all but I'm considering putting some affiliate links on it.
My plan was to write product reviews and then put an affiliate link to the product.

I've found a few keywords which have a nice volume and low KW-difficulty on ahrefs,
the websites ranking in the top 10's arent very strong either.

Now to my question. Even though the websites in the top 10 aren't very strong,
they all consist of pure product pages selling the product I want to write a review article for.

Would I still be able to rank for this keyword even though my page would be very different
from the pages currently ranking? Since they are product pages and mine would be a review page.

I would of course build links and make sure the content
has high quality. But it still feels like google has sort of "decided" what type of content
they would like in the top 10's.

Whats your guys thought on the situation? Should I give it a shot? Any tips?

Thanks!

1. Keep on posting more low-competition keywords.
2. Identify highly monthly low competition keywords (Can be done if you do It properly)
3. Start Building Trustable links slowly for more competition keywords

As site gain trusts, you can target even more tough competition keywords.

Thanks!!

You thinking is correct. Google don't want review post from new sites. Try info posts first, build some authority and go for the review posts.
Start with long tail question keywords first.
Once you have some authority and 30 posts go ham with review posts.
