Hi Everyone,

I used to be a very active blackhatter back 10 years ago, went into the ecommerce game offline and now have invested in a few online businesses and wanting to find out what's the best tool for keyword research nowa days.

I can remember long tail keyword was pretty decent back a few years ago.

whats the latest everyones using? spyfu still going?

whats the best way to track keyword movement in serps?

Just trying to get everything together again, been a while and things change.
 
I use Keysearch, but ahrefs & SEMRush is the most popular.

You can track SERP movement through those, LTP, and also through GSC.

Ahrefs has a rank tracker. It varies depending on subscription.

I also use rank tracker by SEO power suite. It’s a desktop app that works on Mac, windows, and linux.

I also use the rank tracker plugin for scrapebox. Scrapebox is a desktop application. You can find the sales thread in the marketplace.

Yep. I still use it just about everyday too. It’s 64 bit now. Has many more plugins than before. Still just as useful for so many things. I hope it never dies.
 
Ahref is a best, it supports analytic the competitor and organic keyword
 
depends on what you're trying to find

I think SpyFu is best for PPC keyword research, while tools like Ahrefs / Semrush / Keyword Titan / Jaaxy / MOZ / Long Tail Pro / Mangools are good for everything in general, and tools like Keywords Everywhere / Keyword Snatcher / Ask the Public are great for finding long tails and question type of keywords
 
Ahrefs has everything that's needed to hunt and track LT keywords. I think you'll like it.

SpyFu is still working great but it's primarily used for competitor research. Semrush is good for keyword research. Apart from that Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, and Mangools are good. A lot of people use Ahrefs as you can check up to 100 keywords without login.

Read/hear/read what you want about Ahrefs I strongly believe when it comes to keyword research is the single best SEO tool on the market.

I don´t know if it is for the fact I had used Ahrefs far for than any other tool on the market but I´ve been using SEMrush a lot lately and I just prefer Ahrefs.

  • Organic traffic estimates for any given keyword, the page targeting it, and the top keyword for that page....

For Keyword research i use ahrefs or semrush. There are a few functions that you have to find, but are really very useful ;)

I use Serposcore, it's free (Github) and can be installed on your PC. Checking my rankings with it. Several times a day.

Why do I use this tool and not ahrefs for this?
1. it is free
2. ahrefs updates some keywords only every 1-2 months
3. keyword dancing
It is not uncommon that a keyword jumps from #20 to #40 and a few seconds later to #60, then back to #18. So what happens if Ahrefs updates the keyword once and accidentally hits #60 even though this might have been the case only for a few minutes? - Exactly you get wrong results.
