Best Google Analytics alternative

Hello, do you have free alternative to analytics?

Do you mind paid alternative? Because if you are willing to go with paid then I can recommend Plausible. Hands down it's the BEST alternative to GAnalytics. It's so simple and fast and it really lets you understand where your visitors are coming from and how they are behaving on your site. It doesn't have a lot of complicated metrics that you don't really care about most of the time. They will also not sell your data since they make money from subscription. Their script is just a few KBs also. Highly recommended to check them out. They are not expensive for how much value they can give you as a site owner.

It's a great analytics service right? Yea, it sucks about the site limitation. Even with a grandfathered account it is only up to 50 sites. But I did a quick search right now and it turns out they have an open source version of it. With a more limited features I think. You can check it out here: https://github.com/plausible/analytics/. I think matomo has a self-hosted version also.

Yes it's great, the problem is that the limit is not for the sites, but for the traffic. In practice with the 9 euro per month version, I only have 10k monthly visits. So with 50 websites with 50 visits each per day (bots excluded, I'm only talking about visits from Google), you're already at 75k monthly visits. And 50 daily visits are really a pittance, imagine with 3-4-500!
It's not very convenient unfortunately.
But yes, if you have a few websites, or you do tons of money, can be good, expensive but good!
I'll also take a look at Matomo, thanks

Yeah that part sucks. Especially with an operation like yours where you need to rapidly scale up. By the way, I found another one by Fathom. I'm sure you already came across them before but turns out they also have a lite version for their self-hosted analytics https://github.com/usefathom/fathom. If you are not able to set it up on your own I'm sure somebody on Upwork would be able to set it up for you for a few bucks.

Good luck with the project!

Anytime man, I'm just happy that Google Analytics isn't the only competent option anymore. I'm not a programmer. But Upwork is my go-to place if I ever need a quick script to be setup that is beyond my capabilities. Cheers.

Depends on what functionality you need. I would recommend Simple Analytics and Fathom Analytics - they are the closest to GA functionality.

Yes, I'm testing Fathom since yesterday and it's really really basic, but good for me.
I only need the hourly graph and visits from Google. Stop.
GA it's too much complicated and have many things that I don't know what they are.

You can use your PBNs, but keep it limited and carefully managed. Building too many links from a PBN can create footprints that are easily detectable by search engines if not done properly. It's crucial to mix in other link-building strategies to reduce risks. It is also highly desirable that the PBN be thematic to the site you will be linking to.
