It’s very secure, the only reason it might not seem so is because of how popular it is.
If blogger was that popular you’d hear more about it getting hacked.
With WP if you are talking about their managed platform (WordPress.com) then you’ll be safe - they’ll manage security for you.
If you are going to self host a WordPress blog then just follow these safety precautions-
1. Don’t use any nulled themes or plugins
2. Keep the core + plugins updated
3. Install and configure wordfence
4. Segregate your sites from each other
Then you’ll be fine.

Exactly, the problem is not Wordpress, but more like the amount of people who do not update regularly and claim that Wordpress sucks and is vulnerable. People forgot that Wordpress is the same as any other thing in life, if you do not take care of it, it will rust or break.

Won't be surprised if Blogger gets shutdown in near future. i.e nobody wants to experience this! --> https://www.theguardian.com/music/2010/feb/11/google-deletes-music-blogs

I say WordPress. There is definitely a reason why most sites are powered by Wordpress. It offers more SEO than Blogger. With WP, you can do many things like moving it to a new domain, creating your own domain name or you can even move your site to other CMS. Moving to a new domain is quite tedious with Blogger.
