Hey everyone. I am trying to trim some of the fat from my monthly seo cost. So I am looking to possibly switch my vps. I have been considering switching my vps. I currently pay about 30 bucks for a vps with the following specs: HTML: • Quad Core 2.66Ghz Intel 2GB Burstable Memory 240 GB HD Space (RAID 10) 56 Private SQUID Proxies Unmetered 100mbps speeds This isn't a bad deal. I just can't really make sense of paying 30 when the proxies are useless. That was the main reason I went with them was because of the private proxies being included with the vps. I mean these proxies never work. The vps is good but , I would like to get the same specs (Unless I can get something better) for a little less, since I won't be getting proxies. Bermanhost looks good. Can anyone else suggest anything better? Note: Also could you state the up/down speeds of the vps you recommend? As well as the uptime? Thanks.
I also went with the same deal with the worthless proxies. I switched to Hostamus and was very happy with them. Check them out.
Sorry to hear that the vps hasn't worked out for you fr33sh. Given that the going rate for a private proxy is about $1 a month per IP, expecting the 56 proxies to be amazing is not that realistic for that price... $30 for a VPS with those specs is still a great deal. Be keen to hear how you go finding other options.
I've used Berman hosting. There seems to be one guy running it, but his support is great. He normally responds to tickets within a max. of 1 hour. Uptime, so far has been over 99% (downtime: a couple of hours for scheduled maintenance). There were some issues, but he sorted them out pretty quick. Overall, I'm happy with the server speed/specs and won't be changing any time soon. There's a lot of guys on BHW also recommending hostamus and xsserver. eu, so do your own due diligence, and make the best choice for your needs. I would also find another source of proxies, rather than within a package that comes with a server, e.g. buyproxies or yourprivateproxy.
I'm not necessarily changing, nor am I unhappy with the vps. I just don't like the fact that they are part of the package, but don't work. It's not a bad deal at the price, it's just not 100% up front. It's really just a principle thing more than anything else. If you advertise something or sell something it should work as advertised. But i do appreciate all the help. You have been awesome and so has there support. They just suck at proxies.
If you dont mind sharing: What is your package and about how much is it? Also what speed do you get down/up? Thanks.
I'm using the Pro package @ $12.99 a month (but I got a $5 discount as they were doing a promotion): 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 50 GB Storage Space Just done a speedtest .net test: Download: 26.76 Mbps Upload: 51.30 Mbps Also, read here, here and here
Thanks for sharing. Those links are pretty helpful. I am going to do a bit more research. I will post my decision here.
I have been with Berman and they look good. BUT,they don't allow any kind of spam. You need to use proxies everytime.
Meaning: Using SB/XRumer and other tools MUST be used with Proxies. I'm presently trying out berman hosting simultaneously (been a customer with XSServer for 6 months). So far so good.. except for some issues with TweetAttacks and the .net framework (which i'm trying to get it fixed) Support is amazing
Thanks for the response. I know danny1 stated what the package and speeds they got were. Would you mind sharing your package is and the up/down speeds you get from them? Thanks I just want to get a good general feel for what they're speeds are etc.
does anyone know whats up with bermanhosting? i tried to get the support but its not answering all the time... and all vps are out of stock...
VPS are always a roll of the dice, one lesson... be CAREFUL taking the word you hear here about one being great. I think its possible theres a lot of promoters around BHW because I got into a BAD one based on recommendations here. Read as many different reviews as possible and beware REALLY small guys.
thx for that information... its my first vps... maybe u can give me a good advice? i thought bermanhosting is good because here and in other forums i cant found anything negative about them... thx a lot
Coming from two previous VPS hosting companies..I bit the bullet and purchased a vps from bermanhosting so far im really impressed.
I will look into it. It look good. Although from the one person who posted his speed test, the speeds seem pretty slow. Thanks for posting.
