On the other hand, 'gringo,' while it could also be used in a derogatory way, was usually not seen as an insult. As the wiki article relates:The term Third World arose during the Cold War to define countries that remained non-aligned with either NATO (with the United States, Western European nations and their allies representing the First World), or the Communist Bloc (with the Soviet Union, China, Cuba and their allies representing the Second World). This obsolete terminology provided a way of broadly categorizing the nations of the Earth into three groups based on social, political, and economic divisions, which has contributed to political bias. Due to many of the 'Third World countries' being extremely poor, it became a stereotype such that people commonly refer to undeveloped countries as "third world countries," often used in a pejorative way.[1][2] Over the last few decades, the term 'Third World' has been mistakenly used interchangeably with the Global South and Developing Countries to describe poorer countries that have struggled to attain steady economic development. The politically acceptable term for the twenty-first century has become the "Emerging World", the Global South and Developing Countries [3]Third World countries were never polled or consulted as to whether or not their populace and citizenry were in agreement with being listed or referred to as such; this included most of Africa, Latin America, and Asia. However, it is considered extremely impolite to use the term Third World anymore and the correct phrasing may include the Emerging World, Global South or Developing Countries.
Gringo (pron.: /ˈɡrɪŋɡoʊ/, Spanish: [ˈgɾiŋgo], Portuguese: [ˈgɾĩgu]) is a slang Spanish and Portuguese word used in Ibero-America, to denote foreigners, often from the United States. The term can be applied to someone who is actually a foreigner, or it can denote a strong association or assimilation into foreign (particularly US) society and culture.
In Spanish it does not have a negative connotation.[1] Roger Axtell, a travel etiquette expert, notes that "[t]he word gringo is not necessarily a bad word. It is slang but is derogatory only in its use and context."[2]
The word was used in Spain long before it crossed the Atlantic to denote foreign, non-native speakers of Spanish.[3]
There is no place like home - and home is where you make it
Anyone who can make "good money" (in a view from 1st world countries) and lives in a 3rd world should just get the hell out there!
It's a call for trouble and hate also in many poor countries a human life is worth a lot less than in developed countries.
I live in Indonesia, but I'm Chinese, and only 2% of the total Indonesian population pay tax.. Magical..
I have three bedrooms upstairs and a maid quarters downstairs. The house has nothing to do with our monthly expenses though since we bought this years ago. We do not have a house payment. The association dues are a little under a hundred dollars a month and covers the gardener and the security guards and the electricity for all the security alarms hooked up to the security office along with the lights outside at night.. This is split by the other 20 homeowners. Water is 13 dollars a month (flat fee), electricity is 70 dollars a month, our vehicles are paid for but we use gas $150 a month. We pay are maid $100 a month. (250 pesos a day) She gets here in the morning and leaves around 2, 4 days a week. We have family here that owns farmland and we have an abundance of vegetables and fruits along with our backyard.. We basically pay for meet to eat and we are good. This is give and take because sometimes we spoil ourselves but the average is five hundred dollars a month in bills.
Not sure what your questioning. I don't tell tales my man. Believe what you want. Her are a few pics. We actually go through the first gate with the security and pull up to our gated community within our gated community.
