Hey mate, I grew up here in Aus knowing one thing early: if you want money, you figure it out yourself. Internet was the easiest way for me. No fancy skills at the start, just trial, error and putting in the hours.
What worked first was video editing. Nothing crazy. Cutting clips, adding captions, cleaning up TikToks and Shorts. Businesses and creators always need that stuff and most don’t want to learn it themselves. You can learn the basics in a couple of weeks and start freelancing straight away.
Same thing with TikTok work. Brands want short-form content nonstop. Editing, reposting, scheduling, even just finding trends. It’s simple work but it pays because it saves them time.
I also got into basic webpages. Not hardcore coding, just WordPress, templates, landing pages. Small businesses don’t care how fancy it is, they just want something that works. You can charge decent money for very simple setups.
Freelancing ties it all together. Fiverr, Upwork, cold DMs, whatever works. Once you get a few clients, it snowballs fast if you deliver on time and don’t disappear like most people do.
Point is, online money isn’t magic. It’s just skills people don’t want to learn themselves. Pick one, get good enough to be useful, then sell it. That’s how I’ve paid bills more than once.
Stick with it, yeah. Plenty of room out here for people who actually show up and do the work.
