Beginner trying to understand Content Lockers

From what I've gathered, you basically setup an area of your site that requires the visitor to do something, like a survey or whatever. My question is, where would I get these surveys to use on my site? Are there better things than surveys? What is the payout like?

Yes, you understand correctly. You setup a page/post on your site where the content is locked for the visitor and he/she must take an action to unlock it. That action can be filling up a survey, submitting their email address, their zip code - CPA offers, liking the page, etc.
