Hello all

I am looking to learn about ad networks.

I wonder if there is a simple guide as to how to use these to attract targeted traffic to my site?

Also, what are the best ad networks? Is there a list?

Thank you.

Hello all

I guess no one can answer this question?

It depends on some factors. If you site are whitehat - use Google ads, Facebook. If you site are blackhat - use native, push.

Every single category of traffic had own rules and best pracites, and every specific ad network as well.

I suggest to use white label ready ad serving solutions to start if you are able.after increasing your advertisers and publishers you can focus more on your ad network.

My apologies, but my question is more as follows:

1- Say I have a site that does not get a lot of traffic.
2- I want to us an ad network to attract traffic.
3- How to identify which ad network is best?
4- I have seen that people say they pay 200 USD or something like this and they get laser targeted traffic.

Is this really true?

Where to identify these kind of ad networks?

Thank you

There are literally hundreds of ad networks out there. I have a list myself of nearly 1000.

There is no “best” network. The ad network(s) you decide to use will depend in part on what your site is about and also what you want to do.

For instance, there are many networks catering to adult (meaning of a sexual nature) traffic. If you are selling bicycles, these would not be a best fit for you. But it might be if you sell adult toys. Other networks may specialize in different niche audiences. I know of one promoting itself as a christian network and if I recall, another catering to muslims.

Some networks have only certain kinds of ads, video for example. Some have a rather small network of sites. But that does not mean it's bad. You may want to push your ads on a certain site because that's where your audience is. In that case, whatever network the site uses, that's a good network for you.

There's of course the more general networks like Google Ads, Bing and Yahoo among others. They are the giants of the industry and you generally can't go wrong with them.

But no matter what networks you use, implementation is key. Simply giving them money to show your ads without a plan and understand how these networks work and how to advertise in an efficient way is just giving your money away. At the end of the day, you want some return on this investment.

Thanks a lot for this. Let's say that I take your example for a bicycle, how would I go about to identify a network for that niche?

I am looking for a little example so that I can start with ad network. I know I'll make mistakes, but if you do not make mistakes, you do not learn.

It has nothing to do with the network. It has to do more with the sites you want to target and which network(s) these sites are using. There's no “bicycle” only network that I know of. But if a site about bicycles would be good to advertise on and they use a certain network, by all means use it. Google has a large network so hard to go wrong with it.

A real life example: I have a client selling replacement parts for power tools. There's a site called fixya.com, a forum about advice on fixing all sorts of products, many of which are power tools. It's on the Google ad network so I naturally advertise there. Specifically, on the pages where they talk about the specific tools that my client has parts for.

If you begin with paid ads, you can try facebook ads and and bing ads
