Begging for Reviews on BST threads

We have rules on BHW put in place about not begging for review copies unless it is specified by the OP that he or she is giving out review copies. Let's be honest, most people don't read the rules.

In order to deter people from posting these messages on BST threads, maybe when someone reports the message, the mod can edit it to say *Comment removed for violating the rule of asking for a review copy* or something along those lines. People learn better by example.

If anyone has any better remedies I'd be interested to hear them.

Idea looks good,

There can be an checkout option in the area where sellers writes about sales copy.

By checking out "Free Reviews " Copy. Thread can allow the word "REVIEW" and unchecked thread will Not accept the "REVIEW" Word on any post.

OR Something similar.

It is constantly 15-20 of the same guys, they will literally take anything that is free and trow it on their sites.

That is actually a TOS violation from way back. Not sure how it gets enforced but it is a no-no.

That's why I'm bringing it up because less than 10% reads the TOS. This would be a better way to combat it because those comments keep popping up and they don't get removed.

How about a dedicated pre-bst section, where if reviews are needed, they are requested.

And then it becomes an infraction to ask for a review in the actual BST?

Just report any posts you see and we'll deal with them. Putting a reason could help, but then you could argue that a reason is needed for other rules that people miss or forget about. The rules are clear enough, although we can't force people to read them.

We only usually warn on a first slip up, so that's an opportunity to read up on the rules and make sure they obey them in future. As you all know, ignorance isn't a reason for breaking the rules, no matter how big or small they may seem.
Although, saying all this, I do love seeing suggestions, so thanks for the above and feel free to contribute/discuss below.

Bottom line: We know it happens, but can't see everything. Report posts and we'll kick butt.
