Hello Guys,

I think its time we all put our minds together and try and figure out best practises by learning from our own and others faults, so if you have been affected recently, PLEASE chime in!

My website was ranked 9th for a pretty competitive term, Link building wasnt THAT aggressive

Onpage Details ;
10 unique 500 Words + articles
2 Clickbank Ads
2 Images
3 Categories (1 article in 2 categories)
No Privacy policy + Contact Us or T&C's
No outbound links to places like wikipedia
All-In-One SEO enabled
- I think thats it.

Why no - Privacy policy + Contact Us or T&C's ?
You should have this.

These are required by adsense but he is using clickbank.

That is your problem.

Those little sites are slowly going the way of the Dodo bird.

^ I dont know. I have read on the other Panda thread of people who have big sites with large unique content being hit. Personally i have some sites with less pages which are no.1 for their keyword still today but the diffrence is that i have built high quality links and very little spammy links compared to my competitors.

My only 1 site that seems to have been hit with Panda last month had links on 'bad neighbourhood' sites and i have since removed those links and slowly recovering for long tail keywords. Main keyword fell from no.1 to no.2 so not a great distance to go to get back the no.1 spot.

I think now you need good original content and high quality links and less spammy links. My Xrumer has been largely unused the last few weeks and funny enough most of my rankings have shot up! Scrapebox and Xrumer should never be blasted at your site anymore and instead blast to hub (white hat) sites and link pyramids which then point to your money sites.

I can agree with bestmate. Big site hit here. Recently heavy social bookmarking blasts..

Most of those sites are junk but the links gave an incredible boost initially, like xrumer in those early days. The site is PR5 authority so I could pretty much hit top5 in google OVERNIGHT for any mid-high competition keywords in the niche with 2k social bookmarking blast. Now the site is hit:( I got to greedy I guess.

Maybe other factors are playing, there is no reference anywhere that panda takes offsite factors into consideration (please share if you find).

Bro.. i'd say you are lucky to have lasted long with a MFA/CB site on such a competitive keyword. It's one of those keywords where adwords wouldnt even let ads run for less than $10 CPC, and you still need one hell of a quality score. And, every SEO guy would be fighting like crazy for such a keyword.

Not slapped, just for feedback:

Pages indexed: 1000+
OBL to auth sites : no
Same article in multiple categories: yes, a few, maybe 20%
Privacy policy / contact us etc: no, even the domain is registered with obviously fake data

Inbound links: 1300 random spam links, 30-40 natural ( ppl linked to few pages by themselves )
Site age: 2years+

It's ranking 3 for both of its main keywords since a year or so, maybe more.
Did a light blast this week, about 500 links in 2 days to random pages, then pinged them all at once.

Effect: almost nothing, a little dance on the first page.
It's now #3 again. Looks like I'm stuck here but that's not the point.

All in all: No panda slap, only a slight dance between #3 and #7 because of the spam. I didn't notice anything else.

One of my sites dropped to #2 after being steadily ranking first for months. Guess I gotta start backlinking again.

I have found that spammy links to inner pages as a greater negative effect to spam to home page.

anyone else want to chime in? I was hoping for a much bigger response and votes to hopefully catch a trend!

It is hard to catch a trend.... From my point of view, the AGE of the domain is so important when I look at these last updates of Google...

I still hope that G realizes in the future that this factor should not have such an importance, because many, and by many I really mean many of these OLD and sites are shit in the terms of quality....

Still, I am very happy with my results, though some drops from #1 to #2 or #3 are maybe more painful that if someone drops from #9 to #100. Only thing that pisses me off that sites that got that first position are better in nothing just they are not 6 months old like my site...

How is your on-page seo?

Hi there,

My ranking just went better last week. Couple of keyword climbed in top 3.

I'M using a well know SEO service here combined with a good onsite SEO + a good onsite SEO theme. Most of my articles are more than 600 words and keyword density is not too aggressive ( 2% maximum)

Also, my article are well writen and UNIQUE. Number of pages indexed : 26

Hope this can help you guys.
