Becoming disillusioned with IM.

@ IMerSince1997 Here are some facts for you:

http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm
http://www.internetworldstats.com/emarketing.htm
http://www.internetlivestats.com/internet-users/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Internet_usage

Less than half of the worlds population are internet users.
If you don't see that, as an area for growth and opportunity, then please don't call yourself an entrepreneur.

Anybody can start a business and call themselves a businessman, even if they haven't even made a dollar.
An entrepreneur will create opportunities and revolutionise markets.

Did you join BHW just to tell people that they will fail?. I kinda get some of your points. But the fact is, people that fail...............fail because they dont do due diligence, they dont research, they dont take the time to fully learn about what ever it is they decide to do. BHW isnt the the cause of any one persons failure. Not one. If someone is serious about IM they will get some success. If they aint serious they will keep failing.

I consider myself a noob still. I consider myself a failure (so far.) Can i blame that on BHW or so called bullshit BST'S? No, i can blame it on myself.

Your belive is based on non sense thought instead of facts.
I'm pis*sed about people like you who don't treat IM as real business and talk bs that the cake is enough for everyone. Why do you say thats bs to people who are struggling. You are making them hope that there is place for everyone. This is just not true.Over 70% will fail and they need to know that that there is a high possibility that they are going to fail as the market is limited. In each and every business you need to take hard facts. In IM you just read the permanent BS how big money everyone is doing selling their cra*p for $20 or how effectiv their seo is and selling it as service instead of using it on its own.Its all based on BS.The only one who is going to be the looser is the guy who belive in that sh*it and really thinks he can achive his goal when reading all the bs posts and spending money of diffrent offers beliving in their description cra*p

You just need to have a look at the BST and their titles and claims. This is far far far away from reality

LOL and what about the new competition ?You are only showing one side of the medal like a propagandist.Even worse is the fact that majority of non internet users are from poor countries which wont increase the volume much but which can and will provide massivly cheap competition who are able to work for $100-400 month

Opeing just a company doesnt make you a businessman.Maybe thats your definition of a businessman.
Failing is also normal which i never denied but admitting that 70% of people will fail and that there isnt enough place for everyone to make good money is the part where people at bhw keep silent or denying.

You are just talking nonsense mate.
My comment of "Anybody can start a business and call themselves a businessman, even if they haven't even made a dollar." was directed at you, because it is clear that somebody who has been in IM since 1997 and had actually made some real money, would not be talking like that.
Somebody who had or is making money sees the potential, somebody who is broke or making peanuts will see failure as a possibility.

Somebody who has made money and gained experience is first looking for risks and gaining possibilities.Making his decisions based on facts and not on hype.
Failure is always a possibility.Even the biggest companies count the failure. It just shows you have no real clue how to run a real company where you also have responsibility to your worker. Its always an estimate between risk and possible earnings.

You wanna come to europe and talk with the big guys here what they think about people like you and your views ?They would call you a blatant noob and thats even a nice description.Googling his knowledge in 5 minutes and posting stats of 3rd class websites.Thats exectly the kind of businessman you are if you are presenting me such nonsense

Exactly. Everybody fails because everybody does 'something' wrong. I would have never known my site speed played a role in bounce rate without noticing the weakness & correcting it. When you think about it, being afraid of failure is simply being afraid to learn.

I have never said people won't fail. In fact I agree that the majority of people WILL fail.
The same way that the majority of start ups or offline businesses fail in the first year.

That does not mean everybody will fail.
A true entrepreneur will not be afraid of the competition and will treat failure as a stepping stone to success.

You don't seem to be actually comprehending what I am saying.

If 90% of people on BHW are going to fail, (just pulling figures out my ass like you do), don't you want to be part of the 10% that succeed?
Just because people will fail, is not a reason. to not enter the market.

As for Europe, I am in London mate. If you had been paying attention you should have noticed that already. The only blatant noob seems to be you.

Embrace the competition and provide better services and products than them, price yourself competitively and put your customers first. Then watch the competition become afraid of you.

Everybody knows that failure is a possibility, but if you aren't prepared to take that chance then why even start a business?
The people that take those risks are the ones that will reap the rewards.

Just because it might be harder for you to make a few dollars with YT because of the competition, doesn't mean others can't be successful using the same methods or twisting them into something new.

Just because you might fail once, twice, three times, is that an excuse for giving up or not even trying?

Amen. .........................................................

no matter what you do in IM your going to need traffic. if you can figure out some free and unique ways to get lots of traffic then youll be well on your way

Selling your traffic for ad money, especially adfly, is for chumps. If you haven't realized there's very little money (for most) in that over the past 4 years you should probably look into getting a job. Not even trying to be a dick, just dealing a harsh truth I feel you need to hear.

First a simple question for you Mr Economics .You are aware of the diffrence between volume and profit ?Volume is not the cake but profit

But lets even take your 1 trillion cake .So lets say a normal income would be just $2000 .That would be $24000 per year. This means that arround 40.000.000 people worldwide could earn that money via internet and we have to cut out all the big companies. Each and every big company like ebay, paypal, big ecommerce websites etc ........ no more big websites who make more than $2k per month.
Now have a look how many internet users are worldwide arround 3.000.000.000 .Thats means if you take out all of the big and better earners and accept a max income of $2000 per month thats means that of all internet users only 1.33% could archive that goal.
Is this simple enough for you to understand why the cake isnt big enough for everyone ?And i already counted volume and not profit.
Now add back the big companies which do the majority of volume and change volume in profit and it will go down to 0.1x-0.0x%

Trepanla bla

learn to read properly.I wrote inspiration......not method as you wont find any method on bhw where you could claim it makes real money.Posting create a campaign on fb make a good roi and scale it up is not a method.
Inspiration means some twists or idea which i can implement on my working methods but i surely dont expect to find a good method at bhw

Oh dear. You accused me earlier of not understanding maths ('maybe if you understand math at a minimum')

But now you are saying that 24000 x 40000 = 1 trillion. It doesn't. It equals just less than 1 billion. Your maths is out by a factor of 1000 (3 orders of magnitude). But also you needed to use 25 instead of 24 (a very basic lack of understanding of maths) because 100 is divisible by 25 (4) not 24 (4.166666666)

So to correct your error of magnitudes, 40,000,000 (40 million) people would be able to earn $24000 before the cake was used up.

I don't think there are 40 million IMers in the world, do you?

And as far as profit and volume - where did I say they were the same?

The size of the cake is $1 trillion - how much of that ends up as profit changes from company to company, product to product, tax jurisdiction to tax jurisdiction and accountant to accountant.
How much of a slice of that cake you get is down to you
And how much of your slice ends up as your profit is also down to you - if you were sensible and knew what you were doing you could have a gross profit of 90%+

So far the excuses you have made for not making enough money include, the cake being too small, not enough new methods, too many other people in the industry, things were better in 1997 (so I assume you are blaming 'time' there?)...

... I sense more excuses coming, but we will see.

Your best bet is to never give up what works for you at the moment. I have done this before lots of times, looking for alternatives that not necessarily would bring me more profits but would take the burden of working 18 hours a day straight which meant for me no life at all, which is worse than anything I can imagine. This is why most experienced business men talk about working smart.

Everything comes with a risk, but since your offline business is earning you money, dedicate to that business. First things come first. You must have an income source. Online business just like offline promises nothing. So basically giving up offline for you would be a wrong move at the moment. Giving up something for nothing, in case you do not succeed online. The key is learning and investing; time and money. With all respect, your overall online work is almost non existent. Setting up a niche site, and placing some banners, a little bit of seo; along with a blogger blog in 3 years is not much my friend. You must dedicate yourself to your business you know that. Competition is healthy, but the truth is these days you do need to have a solid capital to compete with the big guys, otherwise you can make money but nothing close to even having enough to make ends meet.

Stick with what works is the key, even its not going so well for you it is something. Use the spare time to learn, and the spare money to invest. My situation is similar to yours, starting back from square one. Yes, I do not give up. But there is still a slight difference between our situations, I've been constantly learning, working and building up relationships, have been dedicated, rarely took a day off. I am absolutely sure than some time soon I will be back on track, patience is also a key element in succeeding. Asking if you should quit is not a good approach. You should never quit, just look at your past experience and try to understand why you've only earned 36 pounds in 3 years. The answers will come for sure.

Good luck buddy!

Watch the below video it will motivate you and move on.
although this video is nothing to do with your problemo.

You are not disillusioned you are being realistic.I'm also sick hearning and reading the permanent bs of people posting that everyone can make good money with IM.Its just a lie of stupid people who have no clue. The fact is people arround the world and expecially in western countries are getting poorer. This means the cake is getting smaller.Another fact is that more and more people are trying IM.People from western countries to make some extra money and people from asia to make some "good" money as their monthly cost is way lower.
This means to hold a good income you need to get better and better just to hold your income.
People telling that everybody can make good money are just lying. Its economicly not possible. The cake is limited and if everyone would make the same amount of money it would be for everyone peanuts.Thats why its getting each year more and more difficult to make good money.Thats simple economic.Of course if you are talented and working hard there is a possibility you will make good money but this possibility is decreasing year by year as the difficulty increases.
I work since 1997 and at the beginning you just had to create a website and add at google and you got instantly traffic on it.Hell if you wanted to have a sponsor you had to prepay him arround $2000 so he would even exept you as affiliate but it was so easy money without much work and most important without much competition since most people had a job.Today over 60.000.000 only in the US are on food stamp. So here is your way bigger competition at the same time where they stopped being customers

I think you are mixing two different things on purpose to make your statement seem more drastic. Yes, some people are getting poorer - not only in the Western world (which was used to an unprecedented economic growth during the second half on the 20th century) but also in the Eastern world and/or 3rd World countries. Why? Well, let's keep this short and simple - various economic reason stemming from bad monetary policies and bad allocation of capital/resources/etc/etc. But certainly NOT because of IM being over-saturated.

In 1997 the IM market was quite different than it is now - less internet user, less internet marketers, less trust in the whole internet shabang etc. You really cannot compare 2014 to 1997 - for example let's take the payment options (availability) back then. How hard you had to persuade a person to whip out his or hers credit card and enter those digits to a form on a PC screen? Today? No biggie.

In my opinion you are just infuriated because your current IM ventures are being less and less effective/profitable thanks to new young blood that is trying new methods and draining your customers. And you cannot simply do anything with it just stand there and reminiscent about how easy it was in 1997. Well, everything changes - pantha rhei.

And, oh, not to sound very rude - I don't think IM was easy in 1997 and also I don't it is easy now (but because of different reasons) - so kudos to your success in the late 90's. Now just adjust your mindset a wee bit and I am pretty confident you can accomplish even more than before.
