First position in Google tends to get around 33% of clicks. Although you are only getting around half of this.
You do have to bare in mind that different queries throw up different results. Some pages might be dominated by a map pack, some by google shopping, and some by ads. There tends to be far more distraction and so if your listing isn't as enticing as others you likely won't be receiving majority of clicks.

I moved a site from one domain to a different domain. The new domain is more targeted for the niche of the site. So my question is some of the link profile wasn't the cleanest pointing to the old domain. But now everything is forwarded to new domain via htaccess file. etc. Does this still pass bad link quality on to the new site or is the redirect simmering that down and also how long do I need to keep that htaccess active before I can drop that old domain name? Right now I haven't starting linking to new site at all and it seems to be starting to rank better then previous domain already.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
