I want to rank and dominate for a niche here in my country. It is a small place and very competitive. I am deciding whether to purchase the local country TLD and the main TLD or purchase the main TLD on it own?

Like to hear from anyone with good solid experience on this one?

Target your research and development time into ' local traffic ' and ' local search ' resources. I work all of my site properties locally, as well as domestically, regionally, and globally.

The key is to target them on the level of advertising and marketing that the people living in the specific zone search for sites, products and services within those levels of range they are willing to shop.

Do your homework and become a standard shopper in those specific zones yourself and see how you'd find things on those levels. You will be pleased with the results, as you will find more information, resources and outlets.

Be sure to remember to pay attention the the ' techniques ' of the source you find working...not getting wrapped up in the shopping side of it due to the passion involved in the product/service you've targeted for your research.

There is a thin/fine line there and if you cross it, you will become a consumer instead of a marketer.

That should get you started.
