Ok i see alot of threads such as " How to find a niche " and " Would this niche work ? " and to be fair it gets fairly annoying after a while. So to help try and curb this here is a little method that i use to research and choose a niche.

    Getting Idea's for a niche

Personally i like to go to some online resource such as Magazines.com as this will show us whats hot right now and in demand. So when you have found a magazine that appeals to you, You need to think of a niche from this specific magazine. If it was something like this http://www.magazines.com/product/birds-blooms , Then you could come up with a niche such as birdwatching or something along that line because the bird on the magazine gives me that sort of idea. You can then enter that Base keyword "Bird watching" into keyword software or even into Google keyword tool and it will come back with lots of different keywords based on that main niche. You can also find niche's by using niche finder tools such as Market samurai and even trends in Google.

Checking out the Stat's for the niche

Next you need to find out if people in that niche are spending they're money , So to do this i would enter the keyword of the niche into Google's Keyword Tool and For country i would Target the US (English speaking) so you get the best result and biggest amount of traffic. Make sure the search results per month are over 1k and not over 100k searches as it will be hard to rank, But if you have a good SEO plan then you can go over 100k , Traffic Traffic or SERP attacks are good for keyword research because they also tell you how hard it will be to rank for that keyword so thats worthy to pay attention to. Another good way you can check if people in your niche are spending money is to head over to Google and type the keyword into Google and hit search , If there are ad's displaying on the right hand side or Top of the page selling products etc then this will tell you that people are actually spending money. So once you have an idea that people are spending money , Take the top URL that comes up in the search and head over to Quantcast and enter the URL at the bottom. This will also give you an idea of the Age groups of the buyers and also the Male/Female statistics , So you can target better. This is very good also for Facebook PPC if you wanted to setup a campaign.

Hope this helps some of you get a better idea on Niche Research.

Forgot to add also. When you check for the product ads on google this doesnt necessarily mean that they are just spending money and interacting with physical products. You can put CPA gateways and adsense onto your website to monetize it because people get interested when there are ads on the website and they see something like " Bird watching kits HALF PRICE " etc. So you can make money from that , And even if you want to create a product its very easy and shouldnt take you long. Just do a bit of research before you release and market it.

I had started IM over a year ago and had absolutely no success. I invested so much time and money and gained not even a penny. I gave up and decided it wasn't for me.
    Well...
That was then. I now realize I needed that failure in order to succeed. I just gave up too quickly. I'm giving it a go again, but this time I won't give up after failure.
I do think I picked a niche (stop smoking) that was too tough to start off with. I really appreciate your advice on this topic. I gained a lot of valuable information in the past from bizroot and now its almost like starting over as a complete newbie... which in respect, I am.
    Thanks again.
