I haven't been around for a week or so as I had some really bad news concerning my daughters health.
4 years after watching my mother die from cancer of the esophagus my
daughter has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
So I've had my head up my arse for a week or so as it hit me pretty hard.
I've pulled myself together a bit and will now answer all the PMs I've had and pay my bills, don't fret I ain't gone anywhere.
They say thyroid cancer is the best cancer if any but it knocked me for six
for a while. Now I know the implications and she is going under the knife on the 18th I feel I can go on with life a little.
I'm not looking for sympathy, just letting members know why I haven't been replying to message.

Dude - it is not a severe cancer at all... I'm sure she will be fine and we will keep her in our prayers in my home.

If you need anything at all... help with anything at all... hit me up.
 
I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope she makes a full recovery soon. If you need assistance in any way to catch up with things, I'll be happy to lend a hand.
 
Sad to hear. Its fucked up how much people get cancer these days guess its all the shit their pumping in foods, air and water and in everything. Soon even cancer start having cancer.

sorry to hear that oxon mate, but good to know that it isn't as serious as other types, but none the less still would knock you for six.... take it easy man and heres to a speedy recovery for your daughter :)
 
Thoughts and prayers with you and the family.

If there is anything I can do to help you just shoot me a PM. We've had some illness in my family as well so I know it can be very emotionally draining and hard to focus during these times.

Agree with you man. I don't know if more people are getting cancer, or it's just me getting older. Seems everyone I know is getting it. Family, colleagues.. old and young. Such a terrible thing..

may i ask is she going to under go treatments like kemo and radiotherapy cause my dad was diagnose for lung cancer last year and he went thru all these kinds of treatments.

It's all weird mate. My mum had cancer of the esophagus and it was the treatment that killed her. The radiotherapy burnt a hole in her windpipe and
she died of pneumonia when I asked why they had stopped treating her they said there was no point and they would just administer pain killers now.
With Thyroid cancer it is dealt with by a thyroid specialist, they remove the thyroid and she will be on tablets the rest of her life to replace what the thyroid does.
Morgan my daughter is 21 and thyroid cancer is more prevalent in women the men but normally woman over 30.
The hospital says it is becoming more common in younger women and they don't know if this is because detection methods are getting better or it is becoming more widespread.
Morgan has never touched a cigarette in her life, my mother was smoking two days before she died saying "No point in giving up now!".

difficult news puts everything else into perspective. perhaps no consolation to you right now, but when you get a chance to look back at this thread with a clear head, you'll see how your selfless actions on bhw have had enough of an impact on people you dont even know that theyre sending good thoughts your way.

can only say that ive been through similar with my dad (bowel cancer) and regardless of the encouraging words from medical staff, i took it as read that it was a hopeless situation - i was wrong. what i hadnt factored in was his desire to live along with the leaps and bounds of progress in the medical world over recent years.

its mind blowing to think what personal will-power can achieve when combined with everything that modern hospitals have available to them in forms of treatment plans.
