Banned indefinably from Ebay!

    OMG I messed up the spelling on my title!!! Sorry.. dumb moment!

    All was well in my world or so I thought until I received a confusing message from Ebay. This was the message received:

    You can no longer sell items on eBay


    We want to let you know that you haven't met the minimum requirements to sell on eBay and your seller level is Below Standard in the Global program. As such, you won't be able to list and sell items on eBay anymore.


    Selling standards are in place to ensure that sellers deliver a great customer experience to their buyers. They measure whether buyers were satisfied with your items and your customer service.


    When you don't meet the minimum requirements for selling, you are creating experiences that erode confidence and drive buyers away.


    If you had any active listings, they've now been ended, and any selling fees paid for those items will be credited to you.


    If you've recently sold items that you still need to fulfill or ship, do so promptly. You'll still be able to see any recently sold items in My eBay, send and receive messages, and of course, buy items on eBay.

    I thought, this has too be a mistake as I know I have not done anything wrong? So I called Ebay, after hours of being on hold the guy who served me whom had some unusual attitude said that I canceled 10 transactions in the past month and that was why. I was confused as I only remember being out of stock on three items? He was useless and really did not care to help me figure it out. So I asked to speak to his supervisor. I spoke with his supervisor whom was much more humane but end result, nothing could be reversed. She said that she would put in a note stating that I should be considered as someone to be invited back in the future as she could see I was a great asset. I hung up just as confused as when I called. I began to look over my account and noticed there where indeed ten canceled transactions well one pending. Then it hit me! They made a big mistake! I noticed that 7 of those where from global shipping orders that had not paid me and not responded to any of my messages. In order to avoid ebays 10% fees from those that was going to be coming out of my bank account, I sent a cancel request and explained buyer unresponsive and all other details required. Some of these buyers only had like 4 feedbacks and where new accounts so that was already a concern. I called ebay back, feeling pretty confident that they had messed up and would see the error. After another two hours on hold, I reached a woman who also was a bit more sympathetic to my situation. After going threw each item with her she agreed and told me she would talk with her supervisor and see what could be done. After about five minutes, yes only five... or less, she comes back on the phone and say's I am so very sorry and this is so hard to tell you this, but we cannot reverse the decision. There is no policy to reverse it. HUH!? I said but I have 801 positive feedback! And I have kept all messages, I go above and beyond for my customers why would they ban me?! She had no answer and agreed that this was very unfair and hated that she could not do anything.
    I then decided to send an email to the head CEO of ebay: (I am going to delete personal info I am sure you all understand)

    Dear Mr. Donahoe,


    My name is , I recently was a seller on Ebay under the name RendezvousExpress. I received a email this morning notifying me that I will no longer be allowed to sell on Ebay. After a couple of hours of waiting on hold I spoke with Ebay this morning. They informed me that I had ten canceled transactions and that was why. Even with my 100% positive feedback and great customer service as can be seen in all my messages that I have not deleted. They said this could not be changed. The supervisor said she could see that I was a great asset and would put a note in that I was a seller they should consider inviting back. After I looked over my account confused about the ten transactions. I noticed that I had not been out of stock on ten only three. The others where buyers whom did not pay (international) and would not respond to me either. In my cancel transactions for those I explained in detail to ebay buyer's unresponsiveness etc. I wanted these canceled so that I was not responsible for the fees of selling these items, that I had not received any payment for. I called Ebay back and waited over two hours as the wait times where long again (in which I understand and had no problem waiting either time.) I spoke with a women who looked into and saw that I was correct. She then proceeded to try and see what she could do for me. After talking with her supervisor they informed that there was no policy for reversing this regardless. Even though the fault was not mine and all my customers have been very happy and grateful for my service to them. She gave me the physical address to contact ebay's president office. I found this email online and with hope that I could reach out to you.


    Here is a little about me. I am a mom of four beautiful children, three girls and a boy and one little miracle on the way. Last year when I became very ill and was rushed to the hospital with only 20 minutes of Oxygen left in my body, I was not released until a little over 3 months later into a hospital bed in my living room and into a wheelchair. They discovered that I had Brown Sequard Syndrome due to an unknown spinal cord injury that they believe could have been due to a violent event that happened. I am currently living with a broken back and severe nerve damage and they cannot operate due to the nerves that are currently entwined into my brake so the operation would be a great risk with me being only 32 years old. My husband had to leave his job due to the hospital not willing to release me unless I had full time care.


    I decided to put full focus on Ebay and try to make this my future and make it work. I have worked hard to keep every customer happy and have kept all my messages from every customer. I live by the saying that "the customer is always right" and I do my best to make sure they are satisfied even if it is at cost to me.


    I write to you in hopes that you can please review over this matter and see that everything I am saying is true. I rely on ebay and so does my family. I do not want to go to other places as ebay has become my comfort and my partner in my future.

    Well that was last week and do you think anyone got back to me?! NO! They don't care and I just can't figure it out. But they didn't mind taking out over $400 dollars on the first for all the seller fees for last month! Oh, I can still buy on ebay... but never ever again am I aloud to sell! I mean it is like we are some kind of criminal! It is unbelievable.

    Here is something funny: Speak of the devil so to speak, ebay just called me because I sent an inquiry about the electronics promotion they did that if you don't sell they will give you a $100. Well my item had never sold and it has been over a month and I have heard nothing about what they owe me. The lady has transferred me to another department, I'm on hold right now! Of course!

    Well that is my tale and any help in this would be great. I love dropshipping and now I have nothing coming in and I'm stuck. I worked hard for those feedbacks!
    PLEASE HELP!

    I just took a look at your Ebay profile (you left the name in your post) and it does appear you have good feedback.
    I hope you can get things sorted.
    You should start using one of the ebay alternatives, and also consider Amazon.
    If you don't get good news then think about a stealth account but obviously that will be like starting from zero.
    Hopefully one of the Ebay experts will have some good advice for you. Good Luck

    Thanks. I just deleted our location and stuff like that. But they still have me on hold, and they called me! But when I mentioned about my account being banned nothing... she really has no answer.

    If you have the time (and energy), keep fighting it. Call back every week if you have to. An indefinite suspension is near impossible to restore, but you have nothing to lose at this point.

    Yes it really sucks but Ebay suspends so many users for silly reasons everyday. If you want to sell on Ebay again, you should start building up multiple stealth accounts. Make sure they are all different and link free, so that even if something happens to one, it won't be a huge blow like this account and you'll be able to keep on selling on the other accounts. It will be a slow process in the beginning, but it will be worth it in the long run.

    This very same thing happened to me this Wednesday, for the same reason I was also banned from selling, spent 2 hours on hold etc... have just reached 1000 + feedback. I told em where to stick it to be honest. Even though I just started to average 30-40 sales a day after coming out of that slump of policy they released in august. Just like you I bent over backwards for customers, even went out of pocket on many occasions just to keep em happy as they say the customer is always right, yet ebay seem to believe one crappy buyer over 1000 positive feedback.

    Anyway I told em where to go, I have about 50 orders also that need to be sent out and about £200 seller fees for that month, cleared my paypal and cancelled my bank card, and since have been encouraging everybody to open cases (last month every body who had a question opened a case, now all of a sudden everybody's reluctant to open one) and claim their money, ebay should cover this with their so called buyer protection.

    Personally I'd rather start over again, learn form as many mistakes as possible, use my "buyer block list" on the new account to limit all those crappy buyers in the past. Also try out selling on amazon and possibly other eGay alternatives and even working on my own commerce store, as much potential that ebay has to make money, they really are not worth the trouble, stress and hassle.

    I still can't work out why so many buyers cause so much hassle and go to great lengths to deceive you and also leave you low DSR on positive feedbacks where they claim every thing was great. Wish you all the best in the future anyways, good luck.

    P.S. If you do open a new account, you could always buy feedback off fiverr, I am going to try this on a new account if it works it work and if it doesn't then I've only lost $5.

    Okay here is the update: Apparently there is an appeals department. In order to appeal your seller status. However after being on hold almost another couple of hours I decided to call them back tomorrow and request that. But here is how sneaky Ebay is: As I said I called them about the $100 promotion if my tech item didn't sell. They tried to say oh yes the promotion if your iphone doesn't sell. I said no... that was not it... and my item qualified because I called you guys before I posted it and you guys guided me threw the whole process and since all calls are recorded you can verify that. She again said well I need to see because the promotion was for Iphones. I said well I find it interesting that the message with the promotion back on Aug. 17th you sent me is somehow gone from my messages?! But no worry's I keep copy's of all my ebay messages in my email as everything is forwarded there. She was silent. She puts me on hold and then say's Oh yes I see the promotion. Okay your item did qualify and you will receive ebay credit for $100 8 weeks after the start of the promotion. I said so on the 17th of this month? She said yes. I got her name and wrote everything down but we shall see. I'm not holding my breath. sigh....

    It's amazing ebay has any sellers left at all. They treat them like crap and charge too much to list these days. I used to sell a ton on there in the early 2000's before they got out of control. I would take Jmt123's advice and start building up some stealth accounts. I am sorry to hear about this devastating hit to your income.

    Don't forget to post your feedback and opinions on this. Because it's still risky - too many sellers are "buying fbs" from the same sellers on that platform, so some day they can all be limited and suspended for the same reason. And you're NOT loosing only $5, but the whole account, address, used name, IP, etc. that was used for the creation, huh (incl. PP acc).

    I have considered that option, however I am still ignorant to the whole process and how I could drop ship with them. I have heard most people say to send stuff to the warehouse their fulfillment but right now I have no means to be able to invest in bulk orders. If anyone has any suggestions or tips it would be appreciated. Thanks again everyone for your advice.

    I used to think that, but now I think any new site would have to act like eBay to ever get big. The reason why eBay gets eyeballs on their listing is that the buyers know that they are somewhat protected against crappy sellers. I mean just look at how many people come here looking to do shady stuff. In the grand scheme of things, individual sellers mean very little because seller will always chase buyers, and as long as eBay has the buyers, sellers will put up with eBay.

    Suspended my new account today for no mothrf reason. Asked me to verify, I called in, they asked me questions and put me on hold and boom suspended. Said I was dropshipping, too risky for them. They dont allow it anymore. Mf. Told me to send pictures of every item I have listed As physical inventory in order to get account back. 90 % of big sellers dropship, they are a bunch of liers. No policy exists that dissalows it. I sold nothing suspicious.

    Yeah you can't ever give the impression that you're dropshipping on a new account, that raises huge red flags to them. You have to put yourself in the mindset of someone brand new to ebay. A new user most likely wouldn't even know what dropshipping is, not to mention actually doing it. By saying you're a dropshipper, it screams stealth. Of course that's not 100% true, but that's how Ebay thinks.

    The questions they ask are pretty straightforward, you just have to remember to play dumb and act like a new user as much as possible. You're selling things around your house, not being a reseller (this is why your first listing is very important and should be a random cheap item around your house).

    That's weird... When I was only 2 months in, I called ebay to ask how long it would take for the 21 day money hold to lift because I was looking at dropshipping. I had about 60 feedback at the time. Not only was the guy really nice, but he was even going to send a suggestion to send a graduation request to have my account out of the 'probation period' that day so I can receive instant payments.
