Banned domain

Bought an expired domain with not so many links on it. Decided to use it for a moneysite. After a week, G didn't index it. So I decided to put it into my GWT and got this under the "manual actions" tab:

Pages on this site appear to use aggressive spam techniques such as automatically generated gibberish, cloaking, scraping content from other websites, and/or repeated or egregious violations of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.

Should I buy another domain, or should I request reconsideration?

I'd be buying another domain as reconsideration can take some time.

If you bought it from a broker he may replace it for you and if you just scraped and found it yourself add one more step into the process and check it out on the wayback machine before making a purchase.

Yeah, this domain is gone. Also this account on webmaster tools is probably flagged forever you'll get hand reviews every new site.

Into the trash it goes then. Won't risk with reconsideration because the last thing I want is G to analyze other sites on the same GWT account.

Well FML! That's I don't use GWT any more, but I still got some older sites on it.

Archive.org only shows 2-3 snapshots, majestic shows 10 historical backlinks (worthless blog comments, some directories), content was probably spun. I doubt that this domain made any money in the past 10 years.

You can trash the domain. It's unusable and don't even bother with reconsideration request.

Thanks, but I didn't buy the domain to use it for PBN. It doesn't even have any metrics, so I thought it was clean. It's the domain name that made me buying it.

Yeh, so a huge chance it was registered before, like all EMDs basically and SEOed, like all EMDs. Thus the penalty. When someone asks whether he should go for EMD or not, I always tell them to verify the history properly, because there's a good chance this will happen. I know about 5 other similar cases to yours.

Thanks! Do you know that if by any chance my GWT account is somehow flagged now? I doubt that the Big G is checking accounts of everyone who verified a penalized domain.

Just trash both the account and the domain. And if you will be checkin domains in GWT in the future, always use proxy and fresh gmail and never use it again.

Well FML! That's I don't use GWT any more, but I still got some older sites on it.

They probably already had a look at the others when they banned this one.

Webmasters are hostage really, for non spam projects GWT holds you hostage, you really need their tools in order to work.

It sucks to live under their boot but unfortunately there is no competition in search.

Nah, it was already banned when he added it to the GWT. He didn't do anything else. No harm done imo. Already explained him a few things via PM.

I hope so for his own good. We'll never know if they did or did not look. He could go digging the logs and try to find the reviewer somehow....but I wouldn't waste any more time on this domain tbh.
