Ban any discussion about Covid-19?

Tired of vax and anti vax threads. So, obviously I'm supporting this initiative by OP.

"vax and antivax" is the problem, it's a political point of view...

covid threads could be interesting if people were not so entitled to their opinion, but open-minded.

For example I see many people confuse for example antivax with vaccine hesitants people...

And it is dangerous to not nuance, after it's with these lack of nuances that people think "all blacks are criminals". Must be careful with these types of allegations.

It's why it's important to know how to nuance things or it becomes political threads unfortunately

I agree. I don't give a damn if you get the vax or not, all i care is to make money :)

I mean, it's important and related to make money because it's a health issue, if for example you have covid issue or vaccine issue and become paraplegic and can't use a keyboard anymore it's harder to make money unfortunately.

COVID-19 is a serious case. Any talks about it, opinion or news, should not be banned so that the members are updated. This is about health dude. If you don't want to read another thread about covid then skip it.

I fear I don't have the time nor the want to share some of the methods I have at the moment because I have learned my lesson about doing that lol.
Pretty much the same for anyone making money. Exec VIP used to pretty much mean you did over $100k/mo but they've since removed guys like meathead1234 sadly. New guys will never know the OGs that used to roam this place.

The lounge offers a nice break room for any of us who get bored of dealing with Upwork contractors and clients all day though. ADD brings me here a few times a day regardless of how busy I get lol.

Well at no point have I ever made over $100k in a single month from any job I have had so it's all good then :)

Posted this a month ago, yet everyone started trolling and labeling me as a free speech terminator. Good luck with this.

COVID is viral, so should be only under the "social media" section in my opinion.
I agree with you . I find the debates here interesting, funny, unexpected for the pro-vaccine vs anti Vaxxers no idea who I should pick when the next one starts.

I was just wondering what people think about putting Covid-19 posts irrespective of if they are pro vaccine or against it, no matter the sub-content of the thread should we ban Covid-19 threads. This is an SEO and online marketing forum after all. People can argue that they are in the lounge, but I can't talk about politics in the lounge or religion so why not this? I mean if politics is not allowed to be discussed then surely this falls under the same thing because sadly it has been politicized so much.

I'm not saying people should be reprimanded, just threads of this nature get taken down and the OP reminded that threads of that nature are not permitted. Is it really helping the forum? I'm certainly not here to digest content about Covid-19 nor would I search for any other medical issue. Whatever your stance is on this issue I just think the forum would be a better place without it. It's not as if this would be hard to implement. Anyone could moderate covid posts regardless of their personal beliefs. I'm not trying to add to the mods workload, just trying to make the forum a better place.....In my opinion. What is your opinion?

Because honestly I could not give a fuck if you are vaccinated or not, there is no way all 7.5 billion people are going to get vaccinated, not even close so quiet frankly the chips are going to fall how they will, I can't do fuck all about it. I could not care less either way, were all going to die at some point. but this incessant blah blah blah about Covid-19 is fucking annoying. It honestly does not matter what side you are on... Would you prefer it if we stuck to productive posts?

Anyway be nice to each other in the comments. save the hate for another thread regardless of your views, this is just a suggestion thread.
I rarely pay attention to covid posts/threads because they're mostly confined to the lounge. Even though I don't have the lounge blocked from my feed, I still get a healthy amount of non-covid related threads to read and pay attention to. My point is, if you don't want to see them or interact with them, know that they're 100% avoidable. I don't remember the mods sending me covid posts in the weekly(weekend) newsletter.

That you don't like something doesn't mean others should be forced to despise same thing you know. Without the lounge and the kind of threads you find there, this whole forum would be too serious and too boring. There was a time it used to be weekly/weekend 'my girlfriend ****' posts. Basically, every weekend from Friday you're guaranteed to be entertained by at least one fucked up relationship story. That's how we knew the weekend is near.
Today we're in the covid area, allow covid to shine and enjoy its reign on the forum please. We know it'd be outshined by something else soon.

but imagine if this was a covid forum and people started posting random IM theories... wouldn't really fit would it

Im getting kinda tired of them personally
If the covid forum had a lounge section where pretty much everything could be discussed, yes it'd fit in.

I do have a method I am not using anymore that is still very fruitful, maybe I'll try and put it up this week.
Please do.

Sounds a bit like censorship..

To some extent it's true, sometimes it's draining to see the topic mentioned continually as it's been the focus for the past year.

But one or two threads every week or so? (May vary, not an exact measurement) Hardly getting out of hand. As a JR VIP you have the ability to customize your homepage as well if you're extra soft. :D:)

At the same time informing people, helping them to see past the media narrative and think for themselves / do basic research is beneficial.

There are people on both sides who don't know what they are talking about, (although I'm leaning more towards the pro-vaxxer side in that regard) which can make debate unpleasant / a mud slinging match, but it's not that bad as said. When you get to work, you hardly notice it as much.

I developed ad blind (maybe this is called covid blind) to them. So, don't really care

are you vaccinated twice?

But, what will the people do that sit here only to argue about their conspiracy theories? It will be such sad news for them if this becomes a new rule :(

As previously covered. We won’t close or ban threads on the largest topic of our time there are a number of existing tools available to you to remove these from your feed. For example simply following the forums you ARE interested in v’s running blanket policy to remove those some individuals are not interested in.

Providing threads and posts comply with our existing rules mainly consider the no politics rule when you post you should be fine, spam / flame / trolling threads or posts will be removed as per existing rules. This is an issue that will go on and on and impact lives and businesses worldwide. We’re an online business and SEO forum which needs to deal with an issue of this magnitude not just ignore it. For example covid has seen the use of digital shopping jump 10 years ahead in 1 year in what’s already a fast growth industry (I know I’m preaching to the converted here), to ignore the role of Covid in that progression wouldn’t make any sense.
The impact of Covid is going to be part of many aspects of our lives for many years to come, as an industry we need to accept, work with-in and acknowledge this.

For clarity at no point has verified income level ever been a consideration for Exec VIP.
There are many members that have made significant money whilst remaining part of the forum. Meathead1234 and I would meet up a couple of times a year pre Covid for a drink / meal at one SEO event or another and was the first mod to reach out in person when we purchased the forum all those years ago. A great guy and successful business owner in his own right he just has other priorities these days rather than helping to mod the forum.
People move on in their careers we accept and acknowledge that. There is always space in BHW for them to return if and when they want.
