    Hi,
I've noticed a few backlinks plugins around the internet. Has anyone used these and to what success?

Nope, we didn't use any plugins or tools for building backlinks. Building links manually is the best and safest way to stay away from the Google penalty ( Taking action against your site)..

there are no back links plugin available, but people use automated backlinks software to post links automatically and this is negative in google eye.

That's mostly what I'm reading so that answers my question. Don't use tools or plugins for backlinks.

Plugins or software are a no-no for backlinks.

After reading the answers here I don't think I'll bother with plugins for getting backlinks.

I was using voltrank for my first ever site, I was noob then I would never consider using it now but I got a little bit of traffic from it, I never abused it but it was okay for a noob site.
Short answer = Stay away from it.
Its kind of like blog networks advertised on the BST section, too risky for my liking if a google nazi infiltrates it your screwed.
I'm actually surprised voltrank is still in existence...weird.

In my opinion, the best links are those you build yourself (ie web 2.0 properties) or rented links like SAPE. There's not much I can't rank with that combination :)
Any auto-generated links will be, by their nature, spammy and crappy, and unlikely to help much anyway.
