I am able to get get a ******** and indexable backinks from MarketWatch.com which is relevant to my niche and a really strong domain.

But since it is a press release, do Google pay less attention to press release backlinks since then know the press releases are generated by the company? Or a ******** link from MarketWatch.com will still be good for my website?

Given the fact that press releases only ever offer no-follow links, it'll only marginally improve your rankings if at all. Only really useful for link diversity and overall brand presence.

Google knows all the links coming from the PR sites.

Several years ago, many sites got hit that had done PR, so they rolled a fix out and most of the PR links are harmless due to that update back in the day.

The juice you receive from the MarketWatch link is questionable tbh. They put thousands DF links out on a daily basis.

Gotta try out yourself as I think it's relatively harmless anyways.

Thankyou, but the post from Marketwatch.com is definitely D0 follow

Press Release seem OLD SCHOOL, But they work.

The short answer is yes. The goal of press release distribution shouldn't necessarily be to gain a particular number of backlinks to your website, but it should be used as a distribution channel to share your brand's content. The links you want are created by the journalists who have transcribed your story.

The main benefit is: Press Release helps for Brand Awareness and if the link is D0follow it will helps for SEO as well.

They are useless, Just my opinion.

I do press release just for the sake of link diversity, as I do comments linking and directory submission - not excessive but in a selective manner. I do not bother much about the link juice coming from them or if they are do-follow or no-follow.

Google has said for years PR has no value and could be harmful but at least in my niche virtually every well ranking site has PR links sometimes just out to the old PR websites.

whatever you do, do NOT get those syndicated PR that blast your article to 100's different sites. Get targeted PR. from reputable sites.
