what is a backlink and what can you do with them?

A backlink would be a link (http://yoursite.com) or hyper link to a website. They are free and if used properly and if you have enough of them, they can make a website have a good ranking in Google and the other search engines.

If you pick the right places for them, you might even get some traffic directly through them!

i want to ask a question also -
what is the internet and what can you do with it?

bit of logic and bit of search button....

backlink is back + link = any link directed to your site.

Why don't u just google in order to get the meaning of backlink.
I don't think the question is appropriate for a forum of this calibre.
