Hello all!

I've been trying to find the answer to this SEO question for a little bit now and can't seem to get a clear answer. Sorry if this is a naive question.

Will adding a link to my freshly posted content on another website's old content be beneficial? or will it simply rot because the old content is already indexed?

Is there a refresh/re-indexing time frame that google runs on, or is old content essentially static once it ranks?

What I'm considering is contacting youtubers in my niche to add links to my website. Would it be best to ask them to add the links to their new content(who knows how many views it may get) or is it better to have them add a link to old content that has many views already?

Thanks for the help!

Old content is trusted content. Go with old.

I do this all the time. Links in the old content get picked up by G and they surely help. But it takes more time as G does not crawl it so fast since the old content does not change so much. I usually post an old link to one of my other pages and ask google to recrawl my page.
