Backlink Building Question

I have an ecommerce site with a DA of 22, 143 links to homepage and 483 for other pages like product category pages.

Recently I have been building links for category pages and have managed to get between positions 5 - 15 but it's getting harder to rank higher for these pages.

Im wondering if i should focus on building more backlinks to these specific category pages or building them to my homepage to increase DA.

Which would you guys go about?

step one: build links to homepage. my homepage DA of money site 78 with 23K backlinks.
step two: build links to category pages which will act as pillar content. those should be topic relative links.
step three: build links to product pages. Actually, category pages will pass link juice to product pages eventually, so not much need to build backlinks for product pages as it will be costly affair if you have 50+ products.

Building links to your catagory pages will also increase your site DA..
By the way, if you are buiding links by guest post, try to get 2 Do-follow link from each post. (Homepage+ your desired page)

For guest posts that only allow 1 link would it make sense to use the higher DA sites for homepage backlinks and lower DA sites for category pages?
 
You have to focus both in the same ratio on how much importance you give to the homepage same importance you will give to the inner pages too

As much of the backlinks you build will help you to increase the metrics as well as your site's organic traffic

Some blogs accept 2 do follow links per article so try to get 2 links per article apart from the external links in the backlinks you are going to build hereafter
 
I think your category pages could use more content.

As for backlinks, I think you should split them between the homepage and the category pages. I don't know the split ratio, though, that's something you'll have to figure yourself
 
No one cares much about the DA. Instead of focusing on increasing DA, there are a lot of other metrics as well, like traffic, DR, and RD.

Build links to both the home page and category pages from niche-relevant websites.
 
DA/DR is the most corrupted metric and easily manageable, what you need to do is increase the number of links and target websites with higher amount of traffic coming from Tier 1 countries
 
I think homepage link building is give a boost to your website. If you go to build links then guest posting is a good way to build backlinks. which will help full for to increase your website traffic and google ranking.
 
Guys just a quick question.

How many backlinks does a website need to have to have a decent google ranking or DA score?

Also, I know buying backlinks is key to building out links etc… how much investment typically can this cost?

maybe a very broad question but some idea would be great.

You're already on the right track, just push more links to the homepage and see how it works. It's always trial and error, good luck.
