I would never use gmail, yahoo mail, or msn mial when setting up a link wheel.
Remember, what is being built here is a blog farm. It's important not to leave any breadcrumbs for any of the search engines.
One big screwup that people make when setting these up is to drop adsense into any site in their farm that allows it. After all...if you're going to do the work setting it up, might at least glean some cash from the trickle-traffic, right?
Wrong!
Google need only connect the fact that the same Adsenes publisher ID is present on all the related sites and not only do you have a footprint, but you given their review team the keys to the kingdom.
Same goes with email accounts. It might seem paranoid to think that Google could scan Gmail and notice that dozens of Web 2.0 setup confirmations are all being sent to the same Gmail account...but that's the kind of precautions I would take. Why risk it?
Go with an email service that isn't associated with one of the big 3 search engines when setting these things up.
