Back by Popular Request: How I do 'Domain Prepping'

These are to home page. I will build links to inner pages for specific page SEO as well, but that is not foundational or prepping.

I have been testing building all of the pages I will build content on and doing SEO while I wait for articles to be done. I do not have enough evidence either way to make any assumptions yet.

Social signals are all about the same. It really does not matter which you go with in my experience.

Real life stuff got me home late today...about ten PM. But I should (Fingers crossed) have time to go through them tomorrow night (I set aside an hour to go through them again).

I forgot to mention something I do for expired domains I am using for money sites and had to share via PM, so here is a copy and paste explanation:

Page Recreation is the process of finding the exact URL of a previously juiced up page on an expired domain. I am not suggesting you copy the page, just find the old URL and recreate it. For your domain, go into Majestic / Ahrefs / Wayback and look for pages which have the most links, essentially the strongest pages. Then copy the page URL.

Go into Wordpress and create a page using the exact same URL. You can get custom slug plug ins if you need to in order to duplicate the URL.

Once you do that you want to work on interlinking. Put up a piece of content related to your domain but you are not targeting. You can make this an affiliate page or a site to rank an actual key word. That is not how I do it but you can. You just want some content on it related to your site.

What you want to do is then manually interlink that page with the pages you want to rank. Either to category pages or a page targeting a KW.

This is how I get the most out of using expired domains for a money site. Recreate the strongest URL and manually interlink that page to what you want to rank. Looks perfectly natural but keeps what link juice the expired domain had. Some domains will have a couple great pages, recreate the URL of all of the good ones. This saves a lot of link juice in the long run and will make ranking a lot easier.
