This is a shorter guide than what I normally do, and that is because this has been requested for me do to a thread on this in PM and people ask in my other threads. Why have I not done a thread on this yet (Nor did I plan to)? Because I would consider this specific topic to be one of self promotion. But, people asked for this, but I do hesitate. BHW should not be full of advertisements and 'shares' just to get people to recognize a users name, but it is the nature of the beast.

Any who, diatribe over.

First thing first - What is domain prepping?

Domain prepping is a simple concept, before you launch any serious SEO campaign or when you plan on launching a new site, you do a layer of foundational link building and SEO to kick start the process.

For me personally, I have three types of domain prepping.

A. Churn and Burn Domain Prepping

B. PBN Domain Prepping

C. Money Site Domain Prepping

The purpose of each different type of domain prepping are quite different. For Churn and Burn, this does most of the heavy lifting for your ranking.

For a PBN, it is to pump up the power of your PBN.

For a Money Site, it is to spark crawlers and add power so when you do try to rank KWs, it will be easier.

Let's not waste time, we are going to dive in...

A. Churn and Burn Domain Prepping

What exactly is domain prepping for churn and burn? You understand the concept, build links to rank.

For churn and burn you can BLAST a Parasite or website with links and hope it will rank. This is fine and dandy but as many SEOs will tell you, ranking a Parasite like this does not always work. Some stick, others do not.

Before you buy a domain you plan to use as a money site, you send links to a domain you already own. Then, when you are done you buy the domain you plan to use as a money site and 301 redirect the domain you were working on to the new domain, and it ranks.

Simple concept so far.

The chain looks like this:

1. You find a domain you want to use to 301 to a money site.
2. You build links to the domain in high, spam amounts.
3. You buy the domain then 301 it to another domain.
4. You rank and make money.

I learned the concept from BHW and tried it myself. What I ended up going with is using a 301 domain to a Parasite. I would build a huge amount of spam to a domain, add SAPE links, and then re direct the domain to a Parasite or website I want to rank. I move up in SERPs fast, make some money, and the domain I was 301'ed to will eventually get a penalty. When that happens I remove the 301 and point it to another Parasite or domain.

That way the link juice I built up is never wasted, but rather I keep averting it to another website.

The way I prep is based on what it takes to rank a Parasite quickly.

A Parasite takes:

1. A little 'authority'
2. A lot of spam
3. A lot of power

Fairly simple. Authority is either PBN posts, SAPE or 301 URL Shorteners.

Spam is just as it sounds. I fire up GSA and blast 100K + Back links to a domain.

Number three, power, is normally SAPE.

After I get all of these links built, I am ready to rank.

I am the least experienced with using domain prepping for Churn and Burn. Why? I believe in long term properties and did not have the resources to test this as I would have like to when I started. I wanted to mention that you can prep Churn and Burn domains, and that it is different.

B. PBN Domain Prepping

What is PBN Domain Prepping? PBN Prepping is making a PBN domain stronger. When I started I ran into a problem, the really good PBN domains which great back links and a lot of contextual referring domains were expensive and out of my reach.

See, for PBN domains you have a big gap in quality from having a few good OBL high metric back links to those with dozens. You may be able to find one on BHW with a handful of decent links, but you will not get the top tier for $50. I found that I would order domains from a broker, spending from $20 - $50 and get a couple decent links with low OBL, but these domains did not move the ranking needle like a $1,000 domain would that had a few links from authority sites with low OBL.

So I set out to fix this issue. The more referring domains a PBN had, the stronger it is and the money websites I could rank with it. I began to look at a PBN like I would a buffer site (Essentially a beefed up Web 2.0). I wanted to add more strong links to the domain at as low of a cost so I could rank more websites.

What were good contextual links you can get?

1. Web 2.0s
2. Edu Contextual Posts
3. Cheap PBN Links

That is about it.

So that is exactly what I started to do. I would send $10 in cheap PBN posts, a few good Web 2.0s which were aged with link juice and Edu Posts I would pump up with GSA. I found the metrics on my PBN domains would bump up and I would get a ranking improvement.

I also do a couple more things for PBN domains when prepping. This prepping all occurs before I even put a piece of content up, I do this link building right away.

For a long term PBN domain I send a cheap Press Release to it which acts to force it to index and add referring domains. I also send a cheap social signal package to ensure the site is crawled.

The process in order looks like this:

1. Find good PBN Domain
2. Add a Press Release
3. Add Social Signals
4. Add Web 2.0 links
5. Add Edu Posts
6. Spam the Web 2.0 and Edu Posts

This was my cheap and hard work way to help bridge the gap between people who drop real money on PBN domains in more challenging niches.

The PR also helps make the site look more real, which is exactly what you want.

C. Money Site Domain Prepping

Time for the long and fun part!

How I prep a money site domain revolves around these facts:

1. I want to establish my site as a brand
2. I want to ensure my site is crawled and indexed fast
3. I want to add power so things rank easier and quicker

That is my goal when domain prepping.

How do you accomplish this? You start off the the basics of branding:

1. A Cheap Press Release

This is just to announce your new website, and I normally use Fiverr for this.

2. Business Citations if it is a local niche

This is self explanitortiy, it is an easy way to improve ranking for a local business.

3. Image Sharring / Doc Sharring / Sound Sharring

Depending on my niche, it is almost always applicable to share an infographic, so I get a cheap one made and distribute it. For a website where I can offer or do offer an ebook I will do doc sharring with a primer, and also Sound Sharring if applicable.

4. Popular Niche Parasites & Social Media Accounts

This is not the basic Parasite site as an image sharring site, I also build forum profile and other such niche related Parasites. Basic stuff to brand my name or place my URL in a profile. I also create profiles on the popular Social Media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter.

So far, nothing amazing. Niche specifc activity, basic link building, and just getting the ball rolling.

Then I move onto phase two, once I have the basic things hammered out.

Phase two consists of dripping some stronger links in. All of the previous link building can be done with a brand new website right away. This part you should drip in if you have a new domain.

1. Some Web 2.0 Pumper Sites

I just want to start ranking for my brand or website URL with this.

2. Guest Post outreach

I start trying to reach out for Guest Posts. The previous infographic I made comes in handy here.

3. Social Signals

I then start dripping social signals. They help me get my site crawled and indexed. Nothing fancy here. For any new post or category I drip in some social signals as well.

So now I have some Guest Posts to home page, some Web 2.0 Pumper Sites hitting my brand name or website URL, and some social signals to get everything indexed. I then start dripping in content.

Once I have a decent amount of articles (Five or more) I go a little heavier and finish up my foundational SEO. I add a coupel social media shares on my social media accounts for new posts to begin with.

I then will add a higher quality Press Release for each new category I post up.

I round this off with niche directories, better business buereu, charities and other relvant sources.

This is stuff most SEOs do not get but does have value in specific niches. This is highly niche specific.

I top it off with more Web 2.0s, and PBN posts to each new category I put up.

After all this money site domain prepping I have a site which has a bit more power, is crawled frequently, appears to be socially active and has a decent number of back links so I can go heavy now with other link building methods withtout much concern for penalty for anchor text or unnatural link building.

With the cateogry page link juice and PRs most of my long tails will rank on there own and every KW in the category will be easier to rank.

Great write up! Almost exactly the same as I do things.

It simply works, and will continue to work.

Just takes a little planning and most of all patience.

Does the process differ with type of monetization you use? ie. adsense, affiliates, cpa, etc?

Yep. Another quality post! You're on a roll. Do you find your brand new sites showing up on the SERPS quicker because you "prep" them? How long does it take you to show up for your intended keyword say in the top 100?

This is why I love BHW. Really insightful guide definitely helped answer a lot of questions in my head and gave me some new ideas. Two quick questions though:

For the PBN Domain Prepping, do you send the cheap PBN posts directly to the PBN domain or to the buffer sites?

And when linking back to the PBN domain, do you link to the home page or inner post page?

Concept looks good, thanks for taking the time to detail the process out.

Excellent stuff, great tips some i knew while some i thought i knew.

Yes I do.

The mythical 'sandbox' is just a link devalue period when you build a lot of links at once out of the blue. This is a known part of the algo.

Prepping a domain will help you get over that by building links right away and by time you put KWs up the devalue is handled.

I link directly to the site with 'okay' PBN posts. These are $1 - $3 PBN posts, not the 0.10 PBN posts.

I link to home page and the inner pages of PBN domains. For prepping it is to home page, then when I link out I build links to my new posts.

It is always the same.

lightningblitz, you've laid it out very well. I was really keen on learning about money site domain prepping, I actually wanted to ask you the other day when we exchanged a couple messages but since you were launching it as a service I felt I should wait and not come off as an intruder :)

A few questions:

When you're building all of these links to the home page, do you put up any content on the website? like maybe a 500 - 1000 word generic article on the home page just so your site is live?

do you use citations for niches other than local? I've heard of people doing that and with good results.

How many pumper 2.0's do you generally drip on an okay mid range power domain?

I've seen quite a few services for social signals, do you use any specific one that gives you the best quality signals?

Thanks! Keep up the good work. I'm always on the look out for your posts, right up there with t0mmy.

I appreciate the kind words!

Still looking through the domains (I am short on time and going through back link profiles is a PAIN) but I have not forgot! Just a lot on my plate.

Any who, for your questions...

I usually put up an article some time after the first cheap PR and around the time I am putting up Web 2.0 pumpers. I really do not care much about having content up. I do make sure to have a theme installed and site up, but having actual content is an after thought. I make sure the site is live when I start and just focus on getting crawlers on the site.

Now, I do put content up around the web 2.0 pumpers, because having a bunch of pumpers and no articles looks weird in my opinion and could be a footprint.

How many pumpers for a money site domain? I start with five pumpers on the following Web 2.0s:

Wordpress x2
Tumblr
Weebly
Blogspot / Blogger

This may change as I am not sure I want to pay Weebly for future web 2.0s, and with Tumblr doing a meta refresh this may change as well.

My thinking was I wanted the pumpers to be the 'most commonly' used Web 2.0 sources, so I start with those five. I loved Wordpress as a Web 2.0 due to popularity, not being able to register expired Wordpress so aging these up is a huge benefit, and the ability to use Wordpresses built in URL Shortener for SEO value. I get a LOT of utility out of using that platform but it does take more work to build it up and make it effective.

After the five I will diversify for inner pages to avoid a foot print and will eventually build more to home page. But I start with five to age and build up with tier two links.

Service for social signals....well....

Fiverr. Best bang for the buck. You can get manual or a higher volume on fiverr and most sellers will accept multiple URL. It is too expensive on here or on a vendors site for my purpose.

I also use a couple panels for Facebook likes and am always looking for a cheaper way. But now I use Fiverr. One of the few things I get off of fiverr are:

- Press Releases
- Social Signals
- Logos

That is about it.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. To me, no such thing as a trade secret. Ask away.

Been doing this for sites all the time now and works like a charm.. Take a bit longer but if you spend 30 days building "base links", Brand name, raw url ect to bookmarks, web2's, blog comments, trackbacks and simple blog posts and Press releases (I try to stay with High PR domains for all of them just because they have been around longer and are indexed well).. The rankings for your kw's that your site is optimized for will automatically rank. Once I see keywords get into the top 50-100(depending on difficulty) its time to party with some anchor text links and get the ball rolling.

Good post bruh....

I love it when I post something and get SEOs to sign in to say good job. If only newbies would recognize that and apply what everyone posts!

Thank you bud.

I think I am the first one to ask this tutorial on domain prepping. Thanks for your great post.
Fiverr is lot of mess these days. Can you suggest me the gigs you use from fiverr from domain prepping? If not possible atleast PM me the gigs.
Thanks

I use social signals only. Cork what ever, the SEO seller on fiverr who offers about 30 gigs? I use a couple of his social signals.

Social signals are all about the same. It really does not matter which you go with in my experience.

awesome share as always

cheers
/amoon/

Great Post as always...

Some thing that eludes me and gets me thinking a lot.....

Are all these links linking to the money side HOME PAGE?
Do you guys link to other pages on the moneysite, and are these links included in the aforementioned on this thread or do you do desperate processes to try and rank the individual pages?
