The following post is based on my own theories, logic and common sense.
Your advice is highly appreciated
Blog Network Risks
Although blog networks are incredibly effective at ranking websites they do carry a bunch of risks and disadvantages. For example:
If you just throw all of these links at your website at once there is a very good chance that you will get a penalty at some point and when you do, you wont know exactly what its for. It could be:
The Basics Of Link Laundering
The basic theory behind my link laundering strategy is that you want to place a buffer between your main money sites and these less than desirable blog networks.
Basically you want the ranking benefits of using them without the risk of losing your complete business.
To acomplish this i use a tactic that i have coined as “link source segmentation”
Link Source Segmentation
Basically, link source segmentation is setting up your lower tiers so that you only point one type of link source at them.
When you first hear this, it sounds stupid. Everyone has been told that you must mix up your links sources and platforms etc. But here is the underlying logic of it and it applies specifically to blog networks.
Lets say you sign up to a blog network like https://web.archive.org/web/20150424015857/http://www.makemoneyninja.com/unique-article-wizard or https://web.archive.org/web/20150424015857/http://www.makemoneyninja.com/traffic-kaboom.
You then implement my web 2.0 strategy where you build links to a product or service within your niche on a web 2.0 property (E.g Blogspot.com or WordPress.com). You create a seperate cluster of web 2.0 blogs for each blog network you are using.
You could have 10 blogs using UAW, 10 using Traffic Kaboom, 10 using https://web.archive.org/web/20150424015857/http://www.makemoneyninja.com/authority-link-network, 10 using Article Ranks etc.
These web 2.0 sites will rank fast if you send a lot of spun article links using these networks to the site. You will shoot up the rankings for your keywords no doubt.
You can also funnel the link juice in to your main money sites by linking from these blogs to your main money site. This is what i do and what i advise.
Inevitably though, one of these blogs networks will undoubtedly suffer from de-indexing of some kind or Google will really go after them hardcore (Not before you make mountains of SEO cash). When this happens, the blogs in one of your clusters will most likely stop ranking.
You can just remove the few links to your money site from these pages and just take the hit. I just look at it as part of the cost of doing business.
Advantages Of Link Laundering
Taking this approach has a number of MASSIVE advantages. These are:
I can guarantee you that virtually no one is doing this approach and i am only in the beginning stages of implementing it in my business. Right now i do a lot of link laundering, but i do very little link source segmentation.
Virtually no one does this though because frankly, it is a lot of work. However i feel like i have figured out a way to minimize risk whilst doing very aggressive SEO that will get me ranked for competitive phases within a matter of weeks.
Right now, i honestly believe this is the best type of strategy you can implement because if something goes wrong with one of your clusters of sites, you can just shut it off and you wont face a situation where you are losing all your income overnight. This is something that you obviously want to avoid.
Ultimately this method allows an SEO to aggressively go after keywords without risking their complete business and putting everything on the line. Something any grey hat/black hat SEO would likely be interested in. Especially in today’s climate.
Hope this was informative. Again, this strategy is pure theory and speculation, something i have come up with myself and i am using on my own business.

Blog Network Risks
Although blog networks are incredibly effective at ranking websites they do carry a bunch of risks and disadvantages. For example:
- Your links are posted next to less than desirable sites.
- Other people’s content is poorly written/spun garbage.
- Google is actively trying to stop this behavior by manually going after blog networks and de-indexing them.
If you just throw all of these links at your website at once there is a very good chance that you will get a penalty at some point and when you do, you wont know exactly what its for. It could be:
- Anchor text related.
- Link source related (Which blog network? Which tool?).
- Link velocity related (Negative link velocity due to sites being de-indexed).
- None of the above.

Taking this approach has a number of MASSIVE advantages. These are:
- You will not experience huge negative link velocity on your money sites when a blog network gets de-indexed.
- You can remove association between the blogs and money sites just by removing a few links.
- Your money site is further away from potentially bad link sources. Protecting your assets.
- You can easily figure out which links are helping you, hurting you and when you need to close off a cluster (Your blogs in that cluster will stop ranking). You can also test which link building sources provide you the greatest ROI by using them separately.
- You do not lose your whole business if sh*t hits the fan with a single blog network.
- Total risk is greatly reduced.
- You can be aggressive and scale quickly without worrying too much.
- Allows diversification through multiple blog networks to further reduce risk.
- You take advantage of the inbuilt of authority of popular web 2.0 domains. (For example i can rank a exact blogspot subdomain just as quickly, if not more quickly, that an EMD site)
