Avoiding Copyright and staying Monetized?

Hello BHW, I've seen this channel recently and I'm wondering if any YT experts think that these guys are monetized and making money, even while uploading copyrighted content?


Niche: Family guy clips
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@1ENOKXXX/videos
Theory: Uploading daily family guy clips on a music channel using their own music in the end of the video. They then copyright claim their own videos, and any money made from ads goes to the music creator (them).


I've seen this practice being explained before as to how some clip channels for NBA or even FIFA avoid copyright (as best as possible) and also stay monetized. Do you think that this person is making money?

You don't avoid copyright claims. In your case the people that own the rights for Family Guy can still take down the video and close the account. The channel owner is fully aware of his, which is why he ads music at the end of the video to make money while it lasts.

Yes, I have seen multiple channels doing this. If there are many people doing this, then this means that they must be getting something out of it. The Theory makes complete sense, but I think this method may get patched soon as family guy clips are usually uploaded in shorts and shorts don't generate revenue.

Would family guy/fox just take down the video and issue a copyright strike, or are they more likely to claim the video and take any further revenue from the publisher of the video?

Family guy is pretty popular tbh. So, if these guys are able to upload videos and are able to fly under the radar of avoiding their videos getting taken down, i think they are surely making money.
