Automation vs Manual (I know this is cyclic question but please read)

Right now I'm playing around with automation, I'm using an opensource bot called Instapy, because jarvee is too expensive for me lol, the two bots kinda works in the same way so no direct api work but an emulated mobile browser does the dirty job, instapy tho has way less functions and is waaaay more time consuming as you have to manually write python code for it (there are a few advantages tho you have the full python array of tools at your disposal which can be useful).​

Now I'm doing a few test, and to keep the bot safe you have to put time limits on it, restrains, make it look like a human and the result is... THIS IS FU***** SLOWER THAN MANUAL AND LESS EFFECTIVE.​

I get less than half the followers I get with manual follow/unfollow and those i get with automation don't seem to interact with the page!

Also I keep getting weird accounts recommended like oblivious bots with 10K follows and 1 followers created a day ago.
Is this a way on Instagram to say "hey we know what you are doing wink wink stop it"?
Am I doing it wrong? (I spent 10 days making code and testing various functions/premade scripts).
Is the same thing for you Jarveebros?
