Hi BHW!

I recently registered myself at BlackHatWorld, because I have a few questions regarding autoblogs, I've read a lot of topics before I registered though.

I've bought a nice domain a few weeks ago and configured the DNS to my dedicated server (Debian 5.0, Quad Xeon 2,8Ghz, 8GB DDR). After that I've set-up WordpressMU. Everything went fine and smooth (I'm studying IT) just like I'd expected. Also all the plugins I want to use (about 15) were all working. After that, I've installed "PluginCommander" to automatically activate all the plugins on the blogs.

Great, everything is set-up now, found a few good and unused niches, so I'm ready to go, right? Well, that's what I thought! But how can I add blogs automatically? I know there are a few tools (eg. Link Farm Evolution, WPmanagerDX), but those are all paid and that's not what I want to do (I'm a student, don't have a single penny).

So, what are my options? I'm curious, guys!

I used MU briefly and I didn't find that it took much time to create a blog with it, certainly no longer than fantastico. While logged in to wp-admin, you just click on "site admin" on the left sidebar and then subcategory "blogs" and fill in the form for a new blog. Takes 30 seconds.

Then you just activate & configure all of your plugins specific to that blog, which should already be there as you said. If you've got themes uploaded and activated, all plug-ins uploaded and available on all blogs, you're good to go. I'd estimate the whole process takes 15 minutes from start to your first auto-post.

That said, I ended up disliking mu in a lot of ways, and just stick with regular WP installations on all domains/sub-domains. Not as annoying to me, for some reason.

You don't seem to understand me. I know how to set them up, but the plugins aren't activated properly (eg TwitterTools, user/pass is not filled in). I want to create about 50 blogs in different niches completely automatically!

There isn't a free tool that does this, I have searched for the same thing and I didn't find a free plugin,

So, what did you do then? I can't afford a tool like Link Farm Evolution.

Nutz,
what do you want to do with LFE?

It doesn't acivate plugins, only create accounts, activate xml-rpc and post to them.

You don't have a single penny but you have a dedi with 8 GB ram?

Search goog. "wpdesktop" is a cheaper alternative of wpmandx.

it is useless, it makes blogs very slowly, you can make blogs manually faster

If you want to automate the blog creation process (mu or not, doesn't make much of a difference) look into either ubot (paid) or imacro's for firefox (free). Both of them can accomplish what you are looking for if you add in an excel spreadsheet with the data for the blogs you'd like to create.

Well, my tool does that and still for free. But i have the same problem the threadstarter has noticed. And that is the problem about automaticly get a given set of plugins to work from the start.

what exactly does your tool do? I tried the url but it says i need an acct

You dont have a single penny? dont expect you to expand yourself to go ahead at very fast pace...that is rule of nature.. dont take it offensively but that is the truth and also autoblogs arent that sucessful.. you must get in some money to spend first tho... you can easily do it by renting your dedicated server :->

Good time to learn some php :). I have my WPMU's all on auto-pilot, including setting up all plugins/themes for each site. You just need time to learn and code it up. It was a fun project to figure out.

I've used the older plugins from wpmu dev .org , and they batch create and the auto create plugins worked great.

They worked so good that I want to buy the new set of them if I can find anyone interested in a group buy?

I've manually added 30 blogs which wasn't a really big problem. Took me an hour or so to configure everything right!

Topic can be closed!

how much does this server cost you?
and what is your operational cost?

Added every single blog manually...
I'm not going to pay 200$-300$ for like 3-4 hours of work. ;)
