This is interesting... I just finished setup an article directory yesterday using templatic theme. Currently, the directory is pulling articles from UAW and Article Ranks just to fill it with contents.

I'll subscribe to this thread and will read more later when I get home. This is really interesting...
 
This idea sounds very interesting. I can have 3-4 domains set up on different c-class IPs.
Please pm me when things are concrete.

having a domain which is almost 8 months old.. i purchased it for article directory only but never bothered to use it. Seems likes its the time.. count me in if therez any spot left ;)

I have a fwe 6 month oold domains that I would like to use. Let me know if this is going to happen and install the directory
 
I have some few domains that I already abandon It can help.
 
Looking for some more details ,

Am I right thinking install WP and then what , but confused from here .

Count me in guys, I have two domains, the names are non related to any article directory though, doesnt matter right?

Then we will have a login interface on a different domain, where members can easily login and submit their article once and our server will do the hard work.

I have 2-3 dead domains (not de-indexed at all or anything, but their original purpose is now no longer there)

I have roughly 90 class-c ips I pay for each month for a blog network, so ... it'd be easy to set up.
Get me the platform you want to use (WP etc) and I'll make them real fast. Just decide on the final format, and I'll pass along the URLs
I'd be willing to donate upwards of 10 if the network gets a lot of members
