Authority Niche Site Project (Amazon & Adsense)

After my site got hit by the last Amazon update, a lot has changed. I took a step back and revised my strategy.

What do you mean "the last Amazon update"? What update is that?

Thanks for the journey. I'm also following

Thanks for the quick reply. Will be sure to keep on following, impressed with how quickly you built up the traffic.

It's not as quickly as it looks. It took more than a year (even thought I didn't work consistently on it).

Amazon updated it's commission rates which resulted in a huge drop of income for a lot of publishers.

Oh, right. Sorry to hear you are getting a lower percentage now. That sucks.

Good luck on your journey. Is this an evergreen niche?

Time for another update of what might be one of the slowest journes on BHW ;)

Overall, the traffic situation is the same as it used to be - I'm at around 1k visitors per day. However, I was able to increase my earnings a little bit by adding more Amazon native search ads where they made sense and I'm somewhere around 300$ per month. It's not much, but I'm improving slowly.

Here are my earnings from yesterday (Amazon & Ezoic):

Currently, I'm looking into nich related ad networks to find a convincing offer that I can add to my sidebar to further increase my earnings.

Since my last post, I optimized my workflow and right now I outsource my content to two writers:
@LuckyCharm007 for Amazon related keywords and @charliebrooker for anything else. Both are excellent writers and I'm very happy with their work (I tested quite a few writing services/agencies).

On top of that, I'm working with someone from Upwork that handles my Facebook and Pinterest-Account. So far, I have not seen any traffic from there but I’ll guess that will take some time.

So right now, I'm publishing content and optimizing existing articles. Here two helpful posts:
Besides that, I'm testing out a couple web 2.0 services. I lately asked if people actively manage them (here) and as a conclusion, I don't.

looks promising for you, good work, work even harder and you will succeed!

Just a quick update on last months earning (May):

Ezoic

Amazon

That's $335 total - my best month so far.

Today I published two more articles, I have two more pending and one that's currently being written.

Still experimenting about the backlinks. I'm trying to evaluate the affordable services by ordering them and taking notes of the results after one month.
Unfortunately that's terribly slow but I'm hoping to find a few good suppliers soon. If there's anyone you recommend in particular, let me know.

Hello Cray,

That is nice to see that you're still working on it. Nice earning for May and apparently June is already killing it with 43$ in a few days.

Just started following your journey. I also have my own Amazon sites and I'm enjoying it so far. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to following this one :)

Hey, nice to have you on board. I'm following your journey for quite some time now :)

Just a quick update about my earnings, it's the first time I have reached $50 from display ads only in seven days:

In the same time I earned $30 from Amazon, I'm still waiting to reach $100 total per week.

Apart from that there's nothing new right now, I'm still researching keywords, ordering articles, publishing content and trying out different backlink suppliers.

Great work you doing here, I have one question. What SEO tools do you use?

Great work you doing here, I have one question. What SEO tools do you use?

I think one of my most important SEO tools is a spreadsheet where I keep track of my keywords and articles, take notes about what my competitors are doing, list the services that I order and the results I get, manage my budget and so on.

Apart from that I'm using Keyword Finder, Long Tail Pro, Semrush and Serpbook. Got most of them through a group buy. Most of these tools offer free trials if you want to check them out.

I've been seeing good improvments in SERP recently:

These are the services I used for those keywords:
1. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/1...services-high-quality-unique-strategy.906924/ by @gold service
2. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/e...es-4-tiers-guaranteed-100-safe-secure.785887/ by @The SEO
3.https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/p...-0s-3-layers-affordable-prices.910740/page-10 by @sam3724

Of course it also depents on keyword difficulty, on-site optimization, page authority, anchor diversity and last but not least the content itself (and many other factors I guess). In the end it's always hard to say for me what exactly improved the rankings for a certain keywords, but I'm sure that those services helped, even though it sometimes takes 4 weeks to see results.

I'm still testing out different services and track their results.

Nice journey mate, I see that your rankings are improving..
In the screenshot above, are those all the keywords you are ranking for?
You mentioned of a group buy of those so tools, were are you getting them?
So far how many articles you have and how many keywords your site is ranking for?

No, the screenshot shows just a small fraction of it.

So far how many articles you have and how many keywords your site is ranking for?
I can't tell you the actual post count off top of my head, I guess it's around 20 articles. I actively monitor 30 to 40 keywords and rank for more than 8'000 total.

Two more articles I published this month are slowly catching up in rankings, can't wait until the first two enter the top 10:

Also notable: A couple of days ago I had more than 100 clicks on my Amazon affiliate links for the first time:
