Authority Niche Site Journey - Follow me on my completely transparent journey!

Hey guys!

So I have something really exciting for you all.

I am going to be building an authority site in a very competitive niche, completely from scratch.

The kicker? As opposed to other journey threads, I'm going to be completely transparent.

You're going to see the site design, philosophy, how I bring traffic to it, how I market it, how I monetize it and a whole lot more.

So here is my journey thread in which you guys can follow me build, launch, promote and monetize this website, step-by-step. This is mostly an experiment, so you might see me fail and falter but hopefully you will see me succeed and learn a few new things as well as get some inspiration.

I will be vlogging this journey as well so you can physically see everything behind the scenes.


This is part 1 of this video series and journey.

In this video I talk about the website GuitarWhammy.com and why I chose the niche, how I plan to drive traffic to it and more importantly, how I plan to monetize this website after growing it into a respectable and well-known authority website in the Guitar niche.

This site will be the "BuzzFeed" for guitars and guitar players. A good chunk will be entertainment and meme articles with some reviews and informative articles making up the rest. The website will be monetized with Amazon Associates in which I will link out to products I am comparing and reviewing. I will also be building a list in which I will try to make money on the backend with a list of intermediate guitar players and send them offers for courses, software, jam tracks, etc.

The demographic is all laid out as well, I will be going into that in a future video, but I will be mostly targeting aged 18-35 males. The site will have a masculine tone/culture and will be sexed up a bit.

Subbed: Love a good authority journey thread. All the best and stick with it, think long term and work hard. It could be 6 months before you start seeing a good return so do not get discouraged like so many others.

I will suggest you to get a new domain. As far as i know you will be never able to rank it. Even if you ranked it will get deindexed within few months.

Posting your money site on a Seo forum is not a good idea.

It will be interesting to see how long does it take for someone to neg seo you, and then how long does it take for your website to tank from it.

It's really shame that this happening, but that's the reality, never good idea to share your money website publicly.

Great idea to Vlog it mate. Good luck with it. While the niche might look saturated there's a lot of potential in there and you seem to have a pretty sturdy plan in place. Will be following your journey as i'm a prog guitar player myself
