Need feedback, did you order backlinks from forums or maybe you have your own link building department? What are the results from the placing links on the forums for the site and through what did you look and analyze the results?
I check through Ahrefs for example. Interested in your opinion on the link in 2019?

I find targeted forum posts work much better than most people think and do help to rank targeted keywords.

This is my method:
1. Use AHREFs to find high traffic/authority websites in my niche.
2. Filter backlinks by platform: "message boards".
3. Gather a list of 10-20 forums, start with the highest DR.
4. Register accounts on forums.
5. Leave sit for 3-4 days.
6. Post 2-3 helpful posts on each forum.
7. Next is your link post, comment on an existing thread, do not link yet.
8. After 4-5 days go back to your comment on your link post and edit your post, this is where you place your backlink.

9. Bonus Tip: Use the forum search function to find threads directly related to your web page. Search by "title" using the advanced search.

Good manual! My competitors rarely place forum links, that's why I can't find good platforms for posting. They placing links on articles or guest posting.
I found thematical forums and topics, used actions in your manual. Search thematic sites, which already placed links there and checked them in Ahrefs. Found a lot of backlinks.

@Links-Stream

Links on forums have very tiny power especially from BIO
So you'll waste the time without any significantly results.

Also all kind of "profile" links not exists in natural link building - don't waste time on it too.
Good links drive the traffic - it confirming their value.

Remember it when you want to get the link.

Cheers, Greg.

First, you should create average link schematic in your industry.
Then create your links to achieve same statistic but get the stronger links.
That's all.

Cheers, Greg.
