Assistance required

A couple of my family members are being harrassed by some asshat online using facebook. I've tried a few different ways to try get some form of identification out of his profile but there's nothing in my skill set that I can do. Was wondering if anyone knows a way to get information? I have his facebook id number/his profile but can't seem to get anywhere else. All help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Report him to Facebook.
Also depending on the type of abuse you can contact the police.

Can't they just block him so he can't come at them on FB?

Reporting doesn't do anything really these days. We aren't reporting it yet to the police, first we just want to find out who it is. A more deal with it ourselves approach, they came to me asking for help because I'm the most tech savvy person in the family. Thanks

No kidding about that one.

Now, when you say he's "harassing" your family members, what kind of harassment are we talking about here? Violent threats? Status abuse? Dick pics?

Also, is he only doing it from one account (his "main" account) or are there multiple accounts involved?

Ironically, Facebook will resolve that matter for you, but if you report animal abuse or worse they will suggest it's not against their TOS.

I wouldn't go as far as violent threats, though he is being an outright dick (no dick picks). Best guess is that it's a fake account he/she made, no profile pic, friends, cover pic or anything. All I have to this person is a link to the account in question. The ID number doesn't give you jack..
